*Tachyon has already been brainwashed by Seth and the like. . . . ![]() It's easy to install and use--the installer in particular is not as confusing as some I've seen--and many of the controls are intuitive. For those that are not, there is an enormous support base in the form of the Ubuntu IRC channel, the unofficial forums, the Ubuntu Wiki, a starter's guide, et cetera. I haven't much experience with other Linux distributions so I can't really compare Ubuntu to others. Against Windows, it comes out great. I still find myself using Windows for a lot of things, but then again I'm still new to Ubuntu.

I'm not a Linux freak either, but some people told me about Ubuntu, so I tried it out. Before this, I only tried Red Hat, and wasn't too impressed. Ubuntu is much different, for me, a lot more user friendly. Although I'm no where near good with Linux, I think Ubuntu is great, especially being open source. Free to download, easy to install, great to use. |
