currently, i have been feeling a bit adventurous and decided to check out what available Window Shell replacements that are available. and cutrrently im not to impressed.

i have tried Litestep and its ok, but most of the themes they offer dont show icons and i dont know how to set it up very well.

i have also tried blackbox for windows and yeah its ok....not to terribly impressed seeing as u can set anything to quick access. and u need a plug in to display the few icons u use. i might try it again now that i learned how to move the base blackbox bar. i tried both xoblite and the other blackbox for windows one.

i tried desktop X from stardock and that was ok i guess i just wasnt really impressed by its usability and that i believe its a RAM whore.

im gonna check out aston when i get home. it looks ok with some nice idea its just i want something that gets rid of the start bar! and no i dont want the rollover thing. i dont know i guess im just REALLLLLY picky about how my computer acts and feels.

i really dont wanna do dual boot just yet seeing as i would be switching every 20 minutes or so just do to what im doing. so if anyone has any good Windows Shell replacements that are nice looking, have a large theme library and dont use a start bar pls tell me.

im currently looking at all the tasty plugins for BBLean and Xoblite(both windows BlackBox deviations) and im gonna play around with these guys tonight to see about setting up a new desktop and such. but ill look for styleXP but i believe that is just a re-themer.

damn the start button and the base Windows GUI! i shall reign success over explorer.exe i swear it!

well i am now a BBLean(blackbox deviation) supporter! after finding a good walkthrough and playing around with the plugins that are available, i have found that BBLean is a easy to use, versital, clean Shell for windows.

im still not done playing with it, cuz i really wanna customize my desktop and set it to peak performance, but if anyone needs help installing/setting up BBLean feel free to contact me ^_^
