Hey, I was just wondering out of curiosity, what they go on according to if they make you in the support team or a moderator or something. I realise back-seat moderating shouldn't be done, so i am guessing that they promote you if you are helpful?? I was just wondering, thats all  Thanks... |

I see Christina T in here but I'm gonna give a shot at it anyways.  Yes, helpful is a big plus, being active, being friendly, not sucking up, having a good record, all that helps. Also, this is located in our Guidelines:

Yea well, I'm a sitting duck. I'll explain anyways though.. If someone is helpful in support and knows what they're talking about, then they have a chance to be picked for the Support team. Some members just try solving every question with poor answers. The better quality the answers are is better then the number of answers (remember, quality over quantity). Don't try helping in support because you think you will get on staff due to it. As for Moderators, people who are generally active, helpful and kind have a chance. However, sometimes you can be all of the above and still not be chosen. It takes various other things. Above all, don't aim to be on staff because if that is the only reason you're sticking around in the community, then you have your priorities crooked. I don't suggest anyone to read what I just wrote to abide by just to get you on staff. It is obvious when someone wants on staff and your personality is a part in getting there. We aren't choosing on just these things and so don't expect you will be picked. Be as hopeless as possible. |

Thanks for your answres but to be completely honest i am not thinking that i will ever become a member of staff neither do i mind if i don't become one. The reason i hang around here is because people give great ideas about running forums etc. Also many people provide good codes/skins which i like to look through etc. Please do not think that i am hoping or wanting to become a member of staff because i am not :rolleyes: . I was just interested really to see how the current staff members got picked. Well, thanks

Oh yeah, one more question (if allowed) are team moderators more important than support members??? I am guessing that neither is more important than the other, but they are simply two different things.

actually it goes like this purple > blue red > purple  > redOh and we choose whose staff by discussing members we see helping or who we think are good staff material. We normally have a unanimous decision before anyone is promoted. If two or three staff are against a person, normally that person won't be staff. And a clear warn history is helpful, but not necessary. |

No, no, no. That implies that... Purple = Red Blue = Red The real equation is... (x-5)2 = -4(y-1) Where Purple is point (5,1). Duh?
