I really want a lightsaber but know at our current age i know is impossible so i was searching for some alternatives.

The first one is the popular 'toy' which is just plastic but still good fun even though you cant chuck people in half :shifty:

I then came across numerous sites offering 'build your own lightsaber' type tutorials wherethey show you how to make them out of things like wahing up bottles (like blue peter). These are just the handles but look pretty impressive and fun to make.

Finally I came across what i was looking for if a real lightsaber was out of the question.
lsmaker and its brilliant http://lsmaker.uw.hu/page.php?main=main.html
basiclly you film yourself and someone else fighting with sticks or whatever then it converts whatever you were fighting with to a lightsaber with the glow. then theres another program which adds all the sounds the normalm buz and then all the other noises when 2 lightsabers hit each other. And finally to complete it all of theres a text program for starting your film like the star wars ones do (fade into the back)
I'm watchng theim now and their great. It makes me crave for a lightsaber even more.

Anyways I'll have ago tomorrow or something actually using it and see what I come up with :)

Anyone else heard of this or even better tried it out and got a vid to share? Be quite interesting to see what other people can come up with :D

Did I read it right that "build you own lightsaber kit" has been cancelled? I hope not--I was quite interested in this, as was my four-year-old daughter (she is fascinated by the scene in "Clone Wars" where Barriss Offee makes her own lightsaber. She wanted to make a purple one, of course. -Greg Parker

Well, you did, but you didn't. It was cancelled originally when it was first offered in 1999/2000, but the latest version is all set for release. We should start to see these at retail in the next several weeks. Stay tuned, as soon as they show up we'll be sure to let everyone know.

That's something I've always wanted to do, converting sticks to lightsabers and whatnot. In fact, very recently I recorded a couple of "sticksaber" battles between me and my friend. I need to learn how to add the glow & hum... :hyper:

I'm still trying to figure out how that guy made the lightsaber fly from the ground into his hand. :P

If you need a hilt for your saber, I recommend Big Yellow Box. It's a shame they haven't updated in 4 years though ...

I have an arrow that looks really cool, and the thing is it's really easy to do all those spinny twirly tricks with it. Now all I need to do is convince my parents to give me about...three hundred dollars...so I can buy a better camera. :r
