LOL, they havent lost everything. They still have thier lives, they living. Thats the most important thing. Calm down yall, what yall see in asia is bad, but things like that will happen and will continue to happen, earthquakes, wars, etc etc, these things must happen, better days are coming, no worries. |

You do have a point, and I agree to an extent, but most of what was once there is now gone and thus they need a lot in order to rebuild their futures. I think the reason it's gotten everyone's attention is the fact that it's a natural disaster on a large scale. :/ I've donated but with an ice age approaching I'd say our help is in vein :/ it might be a long time away (for us) but I think this is just the beginning

Bah. I saw someone on the news saying people are just bringing too much in to it when they say that. You should be ashamed, Jay! ![]() Something seems different about the emoticons. What is it? |

I'd say it's because the area had lots of western tourists. If it weren't for them, chances are they wouldn't even gotten a tenth of what they get in aid now. E.g., in Bangladesh, and the area around there, they've had floods killing millions of people, but that's never gotten as much attention as this disaster, and I'd say it's because they lack of tourists. It just affects people us in the "western world" don't personally relate to. And in African countries, there are always at least 5 times as many people who are in dire need of outside help, as those who are affected by the recent disaster in Asia. They've never gotten this amount of help. Actually, what's been given in aid to those in Asia the last couple of weeks, could've helped everyone in Africa for more than a year. Yeah, it's great that people want to help. But the distribution of the aid is not good at all. |

tis true they sell kids for sex trade. i think everyone's over reacting a bit, i mean, donating is good, but theres already more than enough money that what's actually needed, i think those money could do much better if they were thrown in after everything settled a bit, and distribution is fairer. OR the money could go to other things like desese research, and curing the african countries of aids, thats more of a hazard than the tsunami. edit: i cant spelll right today, soz... |

More than enough money? How? It will take Billions upon billions and more to rebuild those countries. And How are those things more of a problem than the tsunami? Thousands of people will die in the next few months from Illness brought upon from the Tsunami. I don't see how you can say people are over reacting. :/ |
