 Anyone have 2005 version of norton? (not anti-virus). if so how is it?

 Nope, just 2003 version. Which may seem waaaaay old but it manages to catch that daily virus I keep getting from some jerk via e-mail :ermm:

Dunno about 2005 version, if you want to know what it's like, surely you can download a trial copy from Symantec?

*EDIT* That's 2003 version of Anti-virus/SystemWorks and Firewall BTW

 I have 2002 of system works, and 2004 of Anti-virus. my dad's thinking of getting 2005. but what's diffrent, like what can do you for a XP*dbzlotrfan in 2005 that you can't in 2002?

 I heard that they boosted the scanning speed on 2005. However, norton antivirus is NOT the best virus protector out there. I think the one that's faster is called NOD32 or is that the scanning engine?

Oh ya, too bad i didnt know the fact that norton was slower than the other one when I went to buy an antivirus.

 well it seems norton doesn't offer a trail of their prodcuts, o well. corrding to a news paper ad my dad red (read) we can get 2005 for free.

what does 2003 OBCU (1 button check up) check 4?

Windows registry scan, program integrity scan free space check, virus definitions check, auto protect check, last virus scan check, shortcut scan

is what it says on mine

 that's what it does for this ME. I wonder if anyone has it (on IF). and if they added more things for the XP/ME. corrding to 2002, some things that can be installed on the Me can't be installed on the XP, like "boot from the cd". just put the disk in the CD drive and you can boot the computer from that.

 I like avast! the best of any anti-virus program I've used. It's always up to date thanks to automatic updates that happen as soon as you sign onto the internet. That's probably my favorite feature that it has. I also like the design of the interface. Very decent and easy to use.

As for as Norton goes, the main thing that I see them advertising is the e-mail virus scan. It's always on the radio...

 got norton a few hours ago. and it is very good. new additions, and other things you probley couldn't do in past versions. in 2005 system works. you can have the 'one button check up' check what you want; meaning in like the 2002 you HAD TO scan 'registery, fragmentioin, shortcuts' and other things, but in 2005 you can " ' skip' " them. you can do more things also.

 Norton's gone very downhill since about Norton 2003 methinks. I downloaded 2004 trial version, and it was unbelievably slow on my system. I'm running the latest McAfee now, but even that is slow on my system, 30MB of RAM at least taken up when idle.

AVG is pretty good, although it didn't pick up everything when I was using it. Anyone used Trend? I heard that was good.
