Ok put it this way we have 1g of ram and a radeon 9200se 128 mb

and we still have trouble playing new games in short you must have a good graphics card which we are getting soon "YAY"
If you just bought the computer as is more than likely the graphics are intergrated and i think most people with agree with me when i say intergrated graphics suck big time. so just cause its new doesnt mean its good for games sorry.

intergrated= built in graphics so yes it comes with the motherboard and they are to be avoided like the plague. Not only do they look bad but the chew ram like i dont know what. Intergrated sound isnt bad but graphics :X

haha i didnt even know ppl made such things.... i thought integrated sound card was bad enough.... i was told not to use anything that comes with the mother board because they tend to slow down the computer because it uses up the ram... ohh well i have radeon 9600xt 256mb and 1gb of ram and 200gb of hard disk, for now its plenty to play any game

It's the dynamic lighting. I'll bet you don't have a DX9 card. Maybe some integrated?

Or if not, a Radeon x300 or a Geforce FX 5700 or less? Any of those on Doom 3 = lag city.

No.... will the fact that I have 512ram and a pentium 4 with 3.0 mega whatevers help?

ya it will its just that if you dont have the proper graphics card it just wont work. even if you have 4gb of ram and the fastest processor.

 the sad fact of it is that you NEED a good graphics card and there isnt much you can do about that.

i have checked the minimum requierments for the Doom3 game and it says that a Geforce3 with 128MB ram, or an equivelent of that card is needed to play the game properly.
