 Here's my theory on how they get on the support team:
1. They answer support topics correctly.

2. They don't spam.

3. They never got a warning.

4. They never got suspended.

5. They post(of course).

6. They don't advertise.

7. They follow the board rules, forum rules, pinned topics.

8. They are respectful* to [existing] staff and members.

*Not flamming, fighting, etc.

Edit: I took out mostly. I added something to #7. Added #8.

 though I think (NOT SURE) that you get acess to the files used by IF (index.php, admin.php, admin_Pages, admin_funtions, etc) that would defintly be nice to see what duff took out/added that MM (mat(t) mecham did with IPB.

It sounds like way too much work.

Ditto. They have to answer support tickets(100+ a day), they have to help out in General Support, etc. , they have to warn members(if necessary), etc.

You have to do a lot of stuff when you are a staff member.

[Staff members] do not have access to the PHP/MySQL databases. Only DuffMan does. Even the Community Admin's do not.

 That was part of it. There was a graphics competition which i won, and Duffman asked me if i wanted to be on the graphics team. Which then disbanded.
