This isnt a feature for V2.0 but for the whole of invisionfree, i have noticed that forums get shut for invisionfree terms of service violations without noitce, i think it would be a good idea to let the root admin know what they have done wrong and give them a chance to correct there errors before shutting the forum down.. |

That's the way it's done already. >_< Shutdowns without notice only happen if the violations are blatant and/or chronic. |

Hmm i understand that, its just its happened to me once and will happen to others many times, they should still be notified regardless of how serious the situation is as the root admin may not be aware of whats going, due to another admins aCTIONS.. |

Again i understand that lol, the point im trying to get accross is that one admin may do something wrong and the forum is closed before the root has time to correct it, or to get online.. |

If any admin you choose does something so wrong as to warrant a board closure without notice, then you should have seen that he/she was incompetent from the get-go. Like Seth said, you are responsible for all admins, this also means choosing good ones. |

For IF2 we will have a nicer system in place that will tell you why your board was closed instead of just saying "Board Closed". |

yeah but what would happen if while you were sleeping or something someone evil spams your board with bad words and or pics. Could your board be closed down?Because its not really your fault because you weren't given a chance to correct the error. This has happend before |

Thats a good idea. Will it also let members know why it was closed? I've gone to a few forums that I thought were just fine... but I didn't understand why they were closed... |

Again, as has been mentioned: Boards are usually warned unless there is a major violation in which warning isn't likely to be effective (such as a forum being called sx.invisionfree.com/all_the_warez_you_could_need_oh_and_some_pr0n/ ) in which case it is fairly obvious that it shouldn't be allowed. |

With the number of closings and tickets DuffMan has to deal with it's easier not to, besides people would use it as an excuse to come here and spam about how unfair it was, etc. We could do without the hassle. Plus it is of no relevance to the public why a board is closed. If people want to know why their board is shut they can enquire via Support Ticket. One of their many uses.

Dynasty, you were aware that keeping that admin around would risk having your board shut down. I would quote you here if your post had not been in the admin section of your board. Anyway, we do issue many warnings. |

Can I just point out something important? This is the internet, people can lie and cheat, some people convince very intelligent adults that they are good looking/fun/young/male etc when they are actually an 80yr old female, they even convince them to meet and can get raped/abused and so on. Theres no way to tell what anyone is like through the internet, but its hard to run a forum alone so you have to put trust in somebody. Sometimes people may judge a person wrongly, thinking they are trustworthy when they arent, but this is the internet so its quite a challenge to judge anybody. So IMO people should have the chance to be warned first if it is a Co-admin who is breaking the rules. An admin cant be blamed for mis-judging someone through the internet when he/she was in desperate need of help with their forum. Therefore they deserve a chance to rectify their mistakes and ban the Co-admin from the site and carry on running a respectable forum. Asfar as the main admin breaking the rules is concerned its upto you if they get shut down. |
