Since I can't reply to Seth's new annoncment I will post it here. Here is proof that Capitals, Puctuation, and number make you password sequre

If you have a four letter password with all lower case, no puncution or numbers then there are: 456,976 possibilites

If you have a four letter password with all lowercase letter, no punctuation, but you have numbers there are: 1,679,616 possibilites

If you have a four letter password with lowercase letters, uppercase letters, and numbers with no puctution there are: 14,776,336 possibilities

With four letter passwords using Lower and uppercase letters, punctuation, and numbers there are: 24,010,000 possibilites

If you have a four letter password with every useable key on the computer (uppercase and lowercase) there are: 78,074,896 possibilites

Rember for these number to mean anything you can't use dictionary words!

  • If you have a password that is "password", there is 1 possibility.
Too bad hundreds of accounts on s9 have that as their password.

Not really smart to say that Seth now people who read the topic are gonna try that :mez:

My friend and I have thumbprint readers that store the passwords we use in encypted memory, so we set our passwords to insane things we can't remember, write them down in one place. And the thumb print thing puts em in for any site we set it for. Windows log in too. That way its nearly impossible to get into the accoutn without our thumb or the peice of paper.

It can be a pain though. Sometimes the reader doesnt work right, and we have to pull out the peice of paper and do it all by hand. For sites that I dont have admin or mod at I just use a simple password for log in and have firefox remember it.
