dont be a snitch, let the real staff take care of it how would you like me to point out every probrlem with your board?

If you consider reporting boards that are violating the TOS and perhaps breaking the law (which I think technically they are by violating the TOS) to be snitching then the snitchers should be happy with themselves.

We probably wouldn't catch a lot of boards without the reports or at least we might catch them a little too late. Yes some people do report for the smallest of things but they are ignored. We appreciate people reporting boards, it's important that they do if they find a serious violation.

Staff can only deal with it if they know it exists and like Loth says, we don't all go around looking at random boards. Just don't over do it or abuse the report system by reporting stupid little things that aren't really a violation, like a swear word in one post. :ermm:

But again, don't go looking for trouble. If you happen across a violation, report it but seriously, spending time to go through the directory looking for boards that violate the TOS is a little sad, especially if it's to get rid of rivals. :eh:

It's like what I said in that board directory topic.
If we had to go around to all the boards looking for violations, we'd need a staff of millions, or at least hundreds of thousands, working non-stop.
Much more efficient to have members who are visiting the forums anyway report things to us when they find them.
But in many cases, what one person thinks is a violation really isn't, and even if it is, that doesn't necessarily mean the forum is going to be shut down.
In the majority of cases, we'd issue them a warning and they'd fix the problem one way or another.

No, we don't just take people's word for anything.
No action is ever taken on a report without investigation and confirmation of violations.
Many of the staff help with violations from time to time, but most reports require DuffMan's attention at some point.
The actual investigations rarely take more than a couple minutes, since they're usually obvious things.
And whoever's doing the reporting can help us out a lot by giving links to some specific posts or topics or otherwise pointing out exactly where the violations are, so we don't have to go looking around for them, and of course, by not making frivolous or unfounded reports. :)

Certainly not. For things like claims of abuse or threats, since we can not confirm them we do not accept that type of report at all.
