Stop using Windows XP. It's visual look will slow your PC down like heck (unless you disable it) and it has the worst security features, EVER. Even Mac OSX is better.
Windows 2000 Professional is the best. Much more stable than WinXP because Win2K runs off of the WinNT Core, and WinNT is the most stable OS EVER. Sure, some say taht WinXP & Win2K have the same core, but they don't. The underlying concepts in the design of both is very different.
I have Windows 2000 Professional on one 80GB Western Digital hard drive, & of course, Fedora Core 3 Linux on my Maxtor 20GB.
SuSE is the suck. Use Fedora.
Sigh. Such noobness. 1) If you think the theming engine slows things down, don't use it. However, some of us don't have computers made in 1999, so we actually have the 8MB of video card RAM required  2) Worst security ever? Relatively speaking, I suppose. But it's not like that means j00 will be h4x0red if you use Windows. I've used it for a long time... funny how I've never gotten a virus, gotten any passwords stolen, &c. 3) 2K Pro is stable, it's true. But guess what? XP runs off EXACTLY the same core, except with MORE fixes. Hint: check the version numbers on the kernel. NT4 is 4.0. 2K is 5.0. XP is 5.1. Revision increment only. Huge chunks of the code are the same. WinNT is not the most stable OS ever, even though it is definitely up there. One of the *BSDs is probably the most stable AND secure. Too bad *BSDs are pains to run. - Quote:

This is just blatantly false; you have zero clue what you're talking about. Fedora is the second worst Linux distro I have ever used. Bloated (have you SEEN how many services start at boot by default?) and slow. Mandrake was worse, but I forgive it because it's trying to be noob-friendly. Ubuntu is the best distro I have ever used; I think Debian children are just fantastic. SuSE offers EXTREMELY broad hardware compatibility, as well as bleeding-edge features (Beagle is even in 9.3; you won't find that in any other distro). Research first, please.
Any particular reason why you are defending Windows XP? After all, you are using SuSE & Ubuntu. Who cares about code bloat? Obviously you do, but I like Fedora much better than SuSE. You can't oppress a person's opinion just because you personally like SuSE & Ubuntu better than Fedora. Foo.
I have zero clue what I'm talking about? I think you need to bring down your arrogance a bit, just the truth, not trying to be disrespectful. Win2K is built on the same technology as WinNT. Oh and by the way, I have a 128MB graphics card, probably better than yours, but XP still slows it down quite a bit.
And since according to you, XP is the *same* core as 2K and has *more* patches, I think it's just funny that XP has *so* many security flaws???... >_<
So, pretty much, because *YOU* like SuSE better as a personal preference, you think others are low because they don't like it?.....
And obviously, you haven't used Fedora core 3.

Windows 2000 professional for me. I'm going to switch to Linux as soon as I get a new hard-drive, however.

Don't. Use Linux on a second hard drive. You will never get 100% compatibility with Linux.

Wait your both wrong! I just read up on this. Win2k and Xp run on the same enigne. The engine is Magic(tm)-Pengiuns the only difference between the two is that xp runs off of Magic(tm)-Pengiuns-Safty and Secuirity
Also I haven't used fendora but Ubuntu is pretty user friendly.

I'm one of the 15.28% using windows 98, sadly. Everyone else is using all these cool technological marvals such as Windows XP and 2,000, and have more than 12gb Hard drives. =\

1) I have a 128MB card overclocked to 500 MHz. But anyways.

Windows XP is based on a new version of the NT/2000 kernel http://www.winsupersite.com/reviews/windowsxp.asp How about I tone down my arrogance and you stop trying to pretend like you know what you're talking about.
3) I don't care if you like SuSE, and never said that. It is a distro with which I have experience, as is Fedora; I gave you my comments on both. I've run Fedora Cores 1-3. My CS prof still runs Core 3, and my laptop boots up about twice as fast as his running Ubuntu
