Ok, some people on my board bug me all the time about being a mod. I've made it clear that if you ask; you are basically flushing your chance down the toilet. Some people will even ask me, then ask another admin. Are people doing this to you? |

Oh...my...GOD [rant] There's this guy on my site...he asks me to be an admin EVERY time he is on...it is our forum's policy not to ban people, but we've tried suspending, mod queing, warning, the whole deal; he is STILL at it! He has less than 0% chance of ever becoming admin now, yet he persists. He was almost made admin, but his temper and whining stopped him. My GOD, I HATE when members beg for positions of power. [/rant] |

You guys are crazy, you have to take advantage of these situations! This one girl was begging me to be a mod every day so I told her if she sent a new PM to every single newbie that joined every day I'll make her a mod. It last for about 2 weeks and then she didn't want to be a mod anymore. It's a Win/Win situation.

Nice, post above! I hate it when they post, Can I be an Admin? I'll do everything you say! It would be a lot shorter time for us just to do it, then to have to say, ok, ban suchandsuch. Add suchandsuch. And even if you did think about before they posted promoting them, your chances are now blown, because now everyone can see that they asked, and they got what they asked for. So why shouldn't whoever ask for themselves. |

heh, that reminds me of something I did to someone who constantly begged me. After being asked for about 3 weeks, I finally thought up a plan that made us both happy. I set up a new user group with the exact same permissions as normal members, and named it the exact same thing as my mod group. Then I put that member in that new group. Bingo, no more pm's, no more complaints. then after a week I told the member he lost his job because he did nothing. |
