Besides security/standards compliancy and the other stuff mentioned above.. one of the biggest reasons I like FF is because it's fully customizable. It holds no secrets. Anything you've ever wanted on your browser you can implement. Don't want ads? Install Adblock. Are a web developer? Install the Web Developer extension, etc.  Oh, and FF is a lot like IE at first, to make the transition easier. It doesn't take that long to get used to. |

I can't seem to arrange my toolbars how I want them. Any idea on how to do that? I have one that's sitting there wasting all sorts of screen space because I can't put it up alongside File/Edit/View/Go/Etc. I have twice the space used for toolbars in FF for less stuff than I have on 2 toolbars in Avant. |

Can you post a screenshot phrank? Hit prtscreen and then go to pain and hit ctrl + v or paste in the pain options. Save it as a jpeg file and host it to a image host and post it here. Im kinda confused because I cant see where it is. Once I see maybe I can help or someone else here. Thanks CGM3 |

Aha. Well, I had tried dragging them, since that's how you do it in Avant, but it did nothing. And when I clicked "Customize", it opened that popup window, and I thought it was just for adding/removing stuff for the toolbars. :wacko: Thanks. Still.. can't seem to find a way to enlarge the Google search address bar, and it's a little short for my taste. |

The idea behind that is so that the browser is as fast and small as possible. You only install features you need, which results in less bloat.
Add this to userChrome.css:
Of course.. some people don't want to go into user files or install extra extensions and such. Firefox isn't the perfect browser, but from my personal experiences, it's definitely the best.

Firefox is better because it is standards compliant, more secure, has better features, and is open source. Firefox has very good CSS1 and CSS2 support while IE barley supports CSS2. Opera on the other hand has poor CSS1 support. Firefox is able to display semi transparent PNG images while IE doesn't support them. IE also displays some layouts that use the current web standards of the W3C incorrectly while Firefox displays them as they should be displayed. Firefox is also more secure. It doesn't have as many security holes like IE and Netscape and doesn't use Active X. It helps to better protect your computer from spyware and adware that can slow your system down. Firefox also gives you the ability to customize the browser with extensions. It also comes with great features such as tabbed browsing which IE doesn't provide. |

if you want to clsoe/open things like the bookmarks toolbar go to the second most top thing (where the 'circle' is) and right click. If yiou go to customize you can add buttons to same line like downloads, paste, copy, cut, print, history, mail, bookmarks, new tab, and new window. Plus alot of others, and even more if yiou download some extensions. |

-Tabs -Better scurity -Customizable. You can basically do everything - Extras you can download. Over 300 have been made. Like Adblock, you can completly disable viewing any ads anyplace. Linkification, ever get annoyed when someone posts their link as mysite.com and do not make it a link? Well it converts it into a link for you. Remove it permeantly, witch removes everything you do not want to see. And colorzilla, witch you can use to get any color you find on the screen quickly. And that is only a few extensions of the 300 available. |

Well, I just got ireFox, and I am using it right now. It is amazing. I love the look and feel of it, and it is very fast and efficient! I can see what all the hubbub was about, although IE isn't as bad as everyone says. :'( Thank you all for your advice! |
