Installing Ubuntu...

Anyway I don't know how cfdisk can be a bad advice if it is simple, menu driven partitioning program...<_<
And with qparted there is always alot of problems especially while trying to mess with NTFS. Never
tried ntfsresize, but no idea what is the point of this if you can use Partition magic on Windows which
is known as not f* up NTFS partitions program.

Is Ubuntu a good one to start with?

Yeah, from what I've read, it seems it is very user friendly and a good linux distro to use for general purposes...
