Since Invisionfree is located in the United States and you live in another country you must follow the laws of the U.S. which would include COPPA.

So COPPA should be on at all forums you say?
:ermm: Oops?

if it has to be, why not make it so that it can not be turned off?

@ D:
Why does your membertitle say mernber instead of member?
(if thats a typo, it sure is a weard one)

It dosn't have to be turned on if you don't have a way to recive COPPA applications, but you still have to make sure all members are over 13.

Its not a typo. i did it on purpose just to see if anyone actually got it. but your the first who has pointed it out. i got the idea from Phrank

And now for COPPA. it doesnt have to be enabled all the time thats why there is a way to turn it off. However ive been reading that when IF2.0 comes out COPPA will be enabled and there will be no way to turn it off.

You never have to have COPPA enabled, only if you want under 13's to be able to join your forum... :r

Edit: Sorry didn't see previous replies (forgot to refresh), still it isn't too bad as mine clarifies it... ;)

We are actually testing a system which would have us receive and process your board's COPPA info.

Would this be free of charge?

I'd hate to get into a "Put your address online or pay" position, and not be able to use InvisionFree anymore.

It would be optional of course.
In addition, the service may not cost anyway anyways.

this q may seem stupid, but what info are we collecting from minors requiring this? Some boards I can understand, but others don't even take emails from members
