I think the reason you guys don't find it funny has more to do with the fact that I hyped it up too much as being "the funniest flash ever." On Newgrounds, the guy who made the flash pretty much just put it out there with the title "Dad's Home" .... Newgrounds voted the flash as the #5 best flash!!! That's a big deal if you consider that Newgrounds is the largest Flash site in the world with hundreds of Flash projects being submitted a day. Most of the people that voted for it said it was funny. Although I'll admit most of the voters are probably under the age of 16... but I know there are a lot of serious mature Flash designers there...and they do "Noir" Flash and have held the top rankings before... so you can't just make it to #5 on Newgrounds without good substance. The fact that I presented as the funniest flash probably made a lot of you already skeptical... and you probably watched it with too much concentration and expecting to laugh at some serious jokes. Whereas I was actually looking for serious "Noir" flashes (because I'm working on one and will show it to you guys when im done) ...and I accidentally stumbled on "Dad's Home" thinking it was going to be something serious...and wasn't really paying attention to it...until i noticed a television was just slammed into the fridge.... |

Not for me, I didn't think it was funny because it just plain sucked.  Way too random for me, randomness is good but in moderation and timed well. Some guy running around doing things like his head being on fire, giving beer to the kids and pulling swords out of his mouth is seriously crud. Too much crammed into it. >_<
Well, I didn't concentrate on it too much, my concentration practically doesn't exist :P, but I did expect something funny, not necessarily seriously funny, but at least something mildly drole. :unsure: Heh, even Toon cartoons are funnier than that and they can be pretty random. :/ So lots of 16 year olds liked it huh? Says alot about modern 16 year olds to me.  I could have just quoted Looners but I thought I'd give my reasons.  Sorry if it sounds harsh but yeah considering I watch random flash things a lot I'd say it would appeal to my neice more than me. :mellow:

It's not the violence that made me laugh. In fact, I HATE slapstick-comedy or even toilet humour... I didn't even like "There's Something about Mary" because that's all it composed of... It's the fact that dad's home. I may give it to him for father's day. |

The only funny part was where the Dad pulled the tablecloth without disturbing the table and then kicking it to the side. Other than that, it wasn't that funny. Could have used better animation techniques, though. It looks like somebody drew that using a computer mouse. |

I'm part of that 90% I think the drawings become like ASCII art... we all appreciate how HARD it is to make freehand flashes so we consider it as good graphics or a nice style. But I think I remember the first time I saw people doing the freehand style, it didn't look that great... but now I really like it
