also, if you really really need this adult forum, then invision isnt for you! however, invision is by far the most relyable forum host i know of! exboards, proboards all eat invision dust! lol, but if your very carefull, and change teh password to this "adult forum" your board should be fine! just make sure you change teh pass every few days so its hard for anyone to guess teh pass to that forum, imo if noone but a chosen few know about it, no harm can be done, and invision cannot stop you if no reports are made from it!

;) Why are you encouraging someone to break the TOS?

It is still not exceptable, even if it is hidden. It says no Adult content on your board, and that means for all of your board.

yes, you can hide forums, theres an option to hide the forum, and to still be able to access it if you know th link to it! so the forum doesnt even have to exist on the index page, but it can still be accessible!

of course, tis isnt a wise idea, as lets say you did even better than 60 members, lets say 500 and over 50,000 posts, one report of porn or adult content will get your board trashed forever! so liek i started this post, if you want adult content, invision isnt for you!

a way around this, is to purchase your own board, i know peoples forums that have "sex" related forums, not hardcore adult stuff but its that genre, and its also a powerboard, so maybe you should consider purchasig an invision powerboard!

As I said in my first post, if it's on the server, it's breaking the law, whether it's hidden from children or not, because there is still the possibility that underage kids will see it.

IF does have power. If the board breaks the rules, it gets shut down.

Simple.

That doesn't mean you have to encourage him to break the law.

He didn't say anything graphic, just discussion. Surely it would be fine?

Well don't say it. You are encouraging him to do something which is against the TOS, and that's that. ;) I mean, you are actually saying 'change the password every few days so you don't get caught!' That's completely uncalled for.

You have also changed your story from the first post to the second. You did encourage it, and you can't take it back now.

So let's not see any encouragement again. If you break the TOS, your board will be warned or even shut down.

I would think it depends on the circumstance. If you post an image of a celeb in a non-sexual position, and asked for comments, I guess that would be acceptable (don't quote me on that, please ;) ), but only if it doesn't go into any discrete detail.

Twilight is upon me, and soon night must fall.

Adult content: besides nudity, pornography, means graphic talk, discussion. Anything that you would never say in front of a child 13 years old and under or senior citizens seems to be a good marker. If you think it would make them cringe, then don't post it. And as to those saying its ok to have hidden forums, nothing is hidden from Brandon, everyone would do well to remember that. Really when it comes to Adult content, just don't even try to skirt the line. Just steer clear of it.

As a non-tech type person here, I have always used IF for my boards. Easy to use, great format etc. I moved my board to ezboard about a month ago, got a bunch of members, over 2000 posts then I lost everything.

I moved back here. Here are my reasons and maybe this will help you in your decision

1. IF is pretty secure as far as I can tell

2. Great forumat

3. Great people

4. I was on server 3 when the servers went down for 2 days. It was annoying while they repaired the problem but I lost nothing!! I had my members, my posts, my graphics everything. They are quick to fix things here. They don't mess around here. And I think they also run things a whole lot better.

I paid for ezsupporter over there, it took them 2 weeks to give it to me. I paid for gold over there 3 days before i was credited through paypal non the less! They had my money but i didn't have my services. So I come back here set up my board, pay for ad free and guess what. It's instant. I think moving here could be the best move you could make.
