honestly, if i wanna play something for free, it has to give me something that hooks me, and frankly runescape did nothing for me, i mean it reminds me of a low graphic version of diablo, i like diablo, but not this game, and i think if half a million people want to play it, fine, go ahead, but this game jsut dosent appeal to me. |

Well its pretty obvious by now that you didn't knew what you were doing in the game, didn't knew how to play the game so therefore those statements. Oh well, thats how people are on these forum. Played the game for a few hours or maybe 2 or 3 days, didn't knew what they were doing, left the game, go on different forums then talk crap about the game. Typical. |

You're as typical as anyone, so don't go talking smack about people at this forum. You assume that none of us have played the game and given it a chance just because we have different opinions than yours. I've played. I had p2p (only because it was a gift) for a year, and have one account that's about 4 years old now, and have made too many noob accounts to count. For a 4 year old account, my character might not have been terribly impressive, compared to that of those who play for hours and hours every day, but my skill total on my main was over 1300, and that was before some of the new skills, and I had (have) probably 75 million in cash and rares and whatnot. I was never "hacked" or anything else, in case you're thinking something upset me, I just found better things to do when I was bored, which was the only time I ever really played RS, because RS is better than solitaire. So, I have a little something to back it up when I say, while the members version is certainly better than the free version, Runescape completely and unequivocally sucks. And no, you cannot have my stuff, even though I don't play any more.

Who the heck ever said i was talking crap about the game? you ASKed if we played it, i said i played it and didnt like it, giving MY reasons as to why I dont like it, sure it may be an advanced game made soley out of JAva, but, but I have a ton of games that are RPG's, like runescape, if i want to play one online, it has to appeal to me, which is why i play Ragnarok Online on a private server. |

I tried today on my main noob, just for the hell of it. (F2p, RS Classic version) It was interesting. I'd estimate that nearly half the characters I saw outside the "markets" were auto-training, and 3/4 of those in the markets were auto-texting. Lameness. I guess they've completely given up on enforcing any rules on the classic version, huh? Shemales just aren't as funny when there are thousands of them walking around either. Tried to sell some runes, but was offered 6.8k for about 80k worth.  Went down to the chicken farm and laughed at the 17 autoers and 9 players competing for the chickens, then cooked a hundred lobsters and had myself a little drop party in the ice cave before I died. I think maybe next time I'll take bananas. |

Well phrank, you are one of the very few people then who quit the game after that much playing but since you quitted RSC, it was no surprise but that game does suck. RS2 version is much better and it has been implanted with extremely good anti-autoing capabilites and its next to impossible to auto there.Lol I suppose you're thinking i am a low level right? Well no i am not. I never asked if you played the game rofl.. it was someone else who started the game. |

I don't know how you can say that, other than you're simply uninformed. The overwhelming majority of people quit at some point, including high level players. Almost everyone I've known on the game, and that's a few hundred people that I knew directly and a few hundred more that I knew by name or reputation, have quit, and almost all of those were above level 80 and most were above 100. I'd be surprised if 5% of players who started at or near the beginning of the game still played at all, much less on their original accounts, and I'd be just as surprised if more than 25% of people who started more than 2 years ago still played. I've seen plenty of players and legends come and go, and it's always the same. The game has nothing to offer high level players who've done everything and can buy anything, and making noobs even gets old after awhile, so the only people left are the silliest of pk'ers that stick around trying to make themselves believe they're cool, and those who just come on to goof around a bit and talk to their friends. And I've played plenty of RS2 as well, so you're wrong on that too. Even the autoing part, though it's mostly auto-typers. The issue isn't RSC vs. RS2. They both suck equally, though each has its own special form of suckiness.
I was joking.  I try not to make assumptions, but it's pretty clear that, whatever your level is (and level is quite irrelevant, as any seasoned RS player knows), you're fairly new to the game, all things considered. I don't hold that against you or anything, but when you say things like I'm one of the very few high level players who've quit, it's laughable. I'd be willing to bet that there are almost as many retired level 75+ players as there are currently active players of any level. But, enough of that. I came to check for advertising, etc., not to argue.

i used to but then i reaized that i was just repeating the same thing i did on it yesterday today i stopped playing and i realized some people only liked me because i was lvl 78 and had a dragon halberd and a granite maul. |

Update: I will no longer be playing any version of Runescape. I just found out they screwed me out of around 250 million and who knows how many hundreds of hours of my time by shutting down RSC F2P. Oh, but I can pay $5 a month to play, even though they assured us it would be free. As if.. |

Indeed. Not that I'd been playing much, since RSC F2P was overrun by autoers and it was almost rare to find an actual person to talk to. Though apparently, RSC P2P isn't in much better condition, which leads me to believe they did it this way so they can keep making money off of all the P2P autoers. But being too lazy/greedy to put in the effort to actually deal with the problem or come up with a more reasonable and fair solution is really offensive. They whine about not being able to transfer from RSC to RS2 any more, which I personally think is a load of bullmullet. Even though I think RS2 sucks even more than RSC, I probably would have transferred all my stuff over to it back in the day, if they'd been honest, but given their track record, I should have known better. :angel: Anyway, yes, RS2 F2P is still around and supposedly will remain so, if you choose to believe what they say. |
