I use to use Firefox all the time until I switched from Verizon to NetZero. I can't use Firefox on NetZero, I have to use IE. It sucks.

IE and anything based on it sucks. Including Avant.

"Avant is as secure as internet explorer." :r

<offtopic>
Heh. It seems my plan to make Avant a sucky browser to the fellow members of IF was successful. As a result of my "Avant" thread, many more people are using Firefox and less using Avant and IE, thus browsing more secure. :) </offtopic>

Why is IE unsafe?

<offtopic2>
BTW, I'm a FF supporter, always have been, so have a good day and Posted Image

..
You're kidding me.

I feel so used.

Sirin, just give it up already...

Personally, I don't know how man can live without tabbed browsing...

Whoa, lotsa small text.. :PSirin has the usual case of contradiction.. He just doesnt want to lose..

For us windows users, IE is the only way to get the system updates as it uses ActiveX.. :D

(Bah @ the ubuntu team for not sending me my free CDs.. :P)

.... its damn ugly.

You can get skins for it ;)

*Pojo hugs his skin with random shapes and squiggles for buttons and markers*[/b]

FireFox has a lot of customization options, which to be honest was my reason for converting, but the security benifits that it provides are incredibly useful as well. :)

Sirin has the usual case of contradiction.. He just doesnt want to lose..

<_<

It was part of the plan as I keep saying.
The contradiction would make users think "He has nothing to defend himself for. I'm going with Firefox then."
When I said give me a reason why Firefox is better, then you all blasted out about it (part of the plan ;) ).

Sani, I can't believe you still think I'm a fanboy of Avant. I never was. Avant was just a way to get users to migrate from IE and it's shells to either Firefox or Opera. It seems you just don't want to believe that the Avant thread was part of an Anti-IE plan that was hidden. :)

then why did you make an IE7 topic about how great its going to be?

I don't think anyone thinks you have any credibility left.

Im leaving it at that and will do my best not to respond to any thing else.

So someone (which was Seth) would uncover that it was XP SP2+ only and more other stuff. With a cost of some of my credibility, it got even more people to Firefox. :eh:

A blast from the past.

You did not need to prise Avant to what you clam you did. Its called makeing a list of pros and cons of both not praising one Avant and comdeming Firefox. I hardly think that you realy made any one swich if you notice olny people who were active in the topic after awhile were the olny ones in it.

What?

Anyway back on topic that was lossed a page ago.

I use FF but I still have to get used to how everything works. I used IE for such a long time I feel it hard changing over to FF, but I'm getting there.

EDIT: Nevermind about my quote I didn't realize Stephen edited it. ^_^

@Sirin: Welp, your posts at the other forum seemed otherwise..
"Good" to uninstall Firefox?

Anyhow... IE is safe, if you only restrict yourself to "safe" sites, such as MS update and.. I cant think of any other place.. -_-

Edit: Bah, i cant be arsed to bother with you anymore and your Anti IE crud which is hidden.
You contradict yourself too much, even at the other forum. Nice job copy pasting the replies from the avant thread to reply there, complete with links to examples even.

And no, i don't care if you dont believe that i think your an Avant fanboy..
I just dislikehate people contradicting themselves and not admitting it.

-Sani, NOT a Firefox fanboy, just a Firefox user.

If you're in Windows XP, you can sidestep all that by just turning on automatic updates and letting your computer do it for you. (And as loath as I am to let Microsoft download things onto my computer, I know that if I don't patch up those inevitable security holes then I will regret it.)

thats what I do, that and manualy set all of IE's settings to the securest setting (advanced tab) so spyware has trouble running.

FF has a lot of bugs that it can't fix. For example when you try to upload files it will crash, sometimes it's "Back" button will decide not to work. Plus you have to keep updating its patches to fix it up but it won't fix the problems you want ...just other security problems you never thought of. The only reason I use it over IE is that people design viruses for IE and less for FF and I don't have a anti-virus thing... if you have Norton then IE is amazing and there's no reason to switch. Tab-browsing and all the rest are over-rated...the truth is Microsoft has a monopoly and they won't let some small time company come along and take them over so easily... so IE is a lot easier to use and a lot more suitable for most websites. Even IF works better on IE than on FF. Stick to IE if you can...but if you need a spyware blocker and all that..then go to FF. But FFs bugs are the most annoying things in the world, I update it all the time and it just gets worse and worse.
