 Yeah I love spyware, I have a big sign on my harddrive that says Spyware welcome, eat, rest, sleep.




Then I run Spyboy and Ad-aware and throw them down the black hole of my computer.

Seriously, all spyware programmers should be stuck in a room and play on a computer that is stuffed with all their spyware and watch them suffer from the speed of the computers, as they craw and eventually eat the programmers.

 spyware/adware are a prime example of how people can be greedy and how bad it is.

Rule #47511: Always carry 2 or more spyware scanners so one scanner can pick up stuff that the other one can't. ;)

See all that is is a rule that you either made up or a rule that only you use.

But i dont see the point in getting another scanner because i wont be online for months neither will anyone in my household

Although we are running Ubuntu, you have to remember that you can still pick up tracking cookies and stuff. I have yet to find something to keep my Ubuntu clean, but I haven't really looked too hard yet. :r But yeah, don't totally throw caution to the wind just because you can't get viruses and other things, there are still some annoyances. :yes:

For the rest of you running windows or dual (or more) booting, I have a nice list of free programs you can download to keep your PC safe.

AntiVir - An anti-virus program free for private use.
Lavasoft Ad-Aware - Sypware / adware remover
Spyware Doctor - Same as above
Spybot Search & Destroy - Same as above, has some nice tools that you can mess with for extra protection.

Yes, I have 3 spyware removers. It's a really good idea to use more than one because some pick up things that the others didn't catch. And also, if you want to take preventative measures instead of waiting until after being infected, you can always download FireFox to browse happier and healthier. ;)

9/10 Cookies, are good and those can be killed at FireFox > Edit > Preferences > Delete all cookies :).
