Whaht Programs do you use?

 Hi everyone... i was just wondering what kind of programs are used to make different kinds of codes? Codes like the skin selector, pm notifyer, rpg inferno, etc. etc.

 CODES ARE WRITTEN IN ALL SORTS OF 'LANGUAGES'

the most common is HTML which is counted as the easiest and most beginners start to learn this,

then you have javascript and CSS, but im not very sure what CSS exactly is

you also have DHTML...hich is good for features on ya website and forums...a good website for this is

then there is something called PHP isnt there? i dont kno about that and i dont think it has anythin to do with the coding you use for forums, but i may be wrong :eh:

 I use notepad.....and there is no magical mod program out there that tells you the code when you punch in what you want it to do ;)

 depends on what your doing ;)

dreamweaver makes the code for you if you are using the "non-code" side of the screen
(dunno what it's called, dunno or older versions even have it)

for prog/script languages, there are some editors, but most i used are really lame.
if you want the code to do anything cool, you have to change/make the code yourself anyway.

so yes, the thing you will use most is a plain text edittor alike thing.
(my java compiler has it built in, dreanweaver (html, js, php) also has some thing like it (with a view of what it will look like under it) )

 I use good ol' notepad too ^_^

At least with notepad it don't tamper with your code, unlike some WYSIWYG or other editors :arr:

 I use Dreamweaver. Frontpage has a will of it's own.. though it can be handy when you quickly want to test a JS script or so.

 I used to use Notepad, but I find NoteTab Lite to be better. I admire Notepad's simplicity, but I use the "Find Line" or "Go to Line" type of functions way too much anymore to use Notepad for extensive coding.

HTML is for the content of a page . . .
CSS is for the design . . .
JS is for instantaneous, dynamic effects.

Most IF codes are written in a combination of all three: JS for 'calculating' the output, HTML for the displaying that output, and CSS for the look of the output.

Of what, the IF forums?

That's because the actual code that makes the forums work is written in PHP. I thought we were talking about the member-created codes and add-ons that you could find in the Code Index. Those are mostly JavaScript. :)

I just found a new edittor online called JEdit. I've just given up notepad. :D
