I swear quite a lot :$ I'm trying to cut down, have a bit, but too many things make me swear. I've dropped so many things on my hands at work (I think this is the first time in months that I don't have any burst blood vessels under my nails :o). I have a few paper cuts that really hurt, I swore when I got those & slow PCs in uni are bound to make me swear

Same here. I only ever swear if I'm annoyed or angry, I never use it just because I can.

Swearing is good. Repression is bad. I encourage you all to do it, but only when and where appropriate, and generally in a creative manner, though sometimes simple and to-the-point brute force swearing is really required. |

i find that having to stop swearing has made me more creative. some of the phrases i've had to use instead of swearing have been amusing to say the least. doesn't help when my housemates provoke me to try and get me to swear though <_< |

But when and where is correct? Should we have guidelines or just make up our own? The former would surely be repression. ![]() And the latter would basically mean anytime, anyplace is fine if that's the individual feels. I like the idea of using it creatively, I try to but catch me in a bad mood and it's I keep it simple. |

I only get mad when I get mad or something serious happens. I was at a Soccer Tournament last week, and I got hit in the [Balls] >_< I fell to the ground and sweared every word I knew  So I just picked the option "When I'm really angry".

Depends. You have to respect the guidelines of others to some extent, like when using IF, for example, but you should never let anyone tell you what you can or can't do when others aren't a concern. But if an individual feels that anytime, anyplace is reasonable, they're selfish and deserve a good beating. My partner at work is pretty hillarious. He doesn't quite say the F-word every other word, but he's pretty bad, and occasionally things slip out within earshot of customers, which isn't usually a good thing, unless they've cursed first, in which case it's sometimes a good thing to swear. Part of good customer service is knowing and relating to your customer on their level. But anyway, what makes it even more funny is that my partner is a devoted Born-Again Christian who sings and plays guitar in the church choir.. or band.. whatever you want to call it. Oh, and Friday.. we were moving this grand piano into somebody's house and the wheels of the dolly kept getting stuck in the welcome mat, which had this pattern of carved out sections, which we should have moved out of the way beforehand, but yeah.. so we were struggling with this stupid thing and he started to curse, "You..." but I guess he saw the customer standing inside the doorway at the last moment, and quickly switched gears and continued, "...pistol-packing mama..!" Maybe you had to be there, but it cracked me up. |

Never do It I replace words like that that hollywood protrays along with womens upper nudity as ok I just replace with my own words. Its bad to cuss. I just say crap-it crap-you(not often at all that sound kinda bad and only to my pc) and crap! Its better than cussing im asume I quit saying crap as often it also sounds bad. If you can not say anything nice shut your mouth. My take on it. Not that I have not done it before but only when I was young and hear those words. EDIT Cussing you say is good and we should do it? You just told kids something parents have tried to stop. That is so foolish. Im not flaring you but that is stupid as all get out. You know as well as I do that its bad to cuss and just like smokers I think most cussers now or later will want to stop and wish they didnt start or set a better example to the children. Only use it when its appropriate. Shall I say never? You also know many other words can be used to replace a bad word. Try what I do just say crap-it or crap really loud! Now this is not flaring just my opinon just as you shared yours. |
