What makes FireFox so much better than IE anyways?

1. It's more secure.
2. It renders web pages correctly.
3. It displays PNG images correctly.
4. It has more features, such as tabbed browsing.
5. Ability to create and install extensions.

Explain number 1 because you are wrong.
IE renders pages correctly and shows PNG images correctly.
But, you have us beat at 4 and 5.

1. Use FF for 1 month then run Adaware. Then use IE for one month and run Adaware. Compare the differences.

2. Do you code web pages? If you do, you'll know how hard it is to work around IE's stupidity. It places line breaks where they shouldn't be and doesn't place line breaks where there should be line breaks. Plus various other acts of stupidity when creating web pages using current web standards. Not to mention the browser barely supports CSS2 and CSS3 is currently being worked on as we speak.

3. http://entropymine.com/jason/testbed/pngtrans/ << Go to this link in IE and FF and compare the transparency of the PNG images.

Who's wrong?

Firefox by a long shot.
This may sound drastic, but if I were forced to go back to IE, I don't think I could fully "enjoy" browsing anymore. I've customized FF so much that it just suits every one of my needs, it's become the perfect browser for me. ^_^

Please, if you haven't tried it, just give it a go. Some features might need getting used to, but it'll be so worth it in the long run.

Isn't there an annoying little proprietary code or something you can use to make .png images display properly in IE.
I seem to recall there being one.
Not that such a thing is really acceptable.

Yeah, you can use a filter to display PNG's correctly in IE. Just do a search for "PNG IE" in Google (or if you're lazy, a link fo' you).

1. It's more secure.
Maybe in some cases but nothing is 100% secure and if you use a firewall and an ad blocker you fine with both.
2. It renders web pages correctly.
Fair point FF does it ok but its still not much diffrent on most pages.
3. It displays PNG images correctly.
This is the only thing i would be bothered about but since you can get an ADD ON for ie it doesnt bother me.
4. It has more features, such as tabbed browsing.
Tabbed browsing is annoying, i like to be able to have 2 pages open and be able to see what on both at the same time. Makes it easier to compair data.
5. Ability to create and install extensions.
You can create and install extensions in IE too.

You don't have to just use tabbed browsing.
You can choose to open in a new window or launch multiple instances of the browser from your quicklaunch bar or whatever. ;)
Multiple windows with multiple tabs in each comes in rather handy sometimes.

Yeah but FF loads slowly anyway and uses loads of ram, id rather stick to opening 2 IEs and be done. Its not like you can be searching much more then 5 pages at once anyway.
