There's a guy on my site that keeps writing hate speech towards religions and such and making posts... I banned his IPs (even using the wildcard * ) but he still gets on with new accounts ...is there anything else I can do ? my mods, (including myself) are tired of deleting his articles, we also just stopped reading them cuz there are so many of these articles. |

he 'll just make a new email. there's really no pattern until he posts..... i just banned him again.... *Sigh* if he persists...i came up with a diabolical plan.... i'll make asection just for him...one that only he and i can see :D.... so he'll THINK all members see his dumb posts and he'll keep posting there.... |

I never liked email validation. I'd suggest using admin validation, then manually sending email validations, then make a special forum for new members to post in and don't let them post in the others until you're fairly certain they're not troublemakers, or promote them at 25 posts or something, and chances are you'll be able to get rid of him and others before they get in the main forums to disrupt things for your regular members. |

fudge, nice situation :| all i would do is Ban IP ban with wildcard Ban email accounts with wildcard (*@msn.com) Disable new registrations (find a way for them to send info to you so you can pre-register them yourself) Turn board offline Thats in least to most severe Eventually he should get bored and go pick on a little kid for picking his nose  |

erm, turning board offline would be bad for those who are already members, as normal members cant see offline boards, only admins, and mods, if the root allows them to. |

You could always make it so that members posts have to be checked before they are sent to the board. Admin CP --> Users and Groups --> Find/Edit/Suspend User --> Then type in the username and click on 'edit details' then in the 'Require moderator preview of all posts by this member?' section click the box that says 'Moderator Preview indefinitely'. But that would have to be done for every account he makes. |

The best solution so far (considering IP banning isn't working) does sound like making a forum for him to enjoy himself in. Make sure everyone ignores him if he does post publicly. |

Or, move his acconts into a new group and email all the normal members with a url to a new board you created and get the earlier backup from the other forum into that one and tada! |

That's a bit drastic, making a new forum just to get away from one person. |

Well his situation is pretty serious. I have more ideas, though. |

Trouble makers arne't a serious situation, we deal with them all the time. Crackers on the other hand...:ermm:Anyhoo, if you continually ban a user they tend to get bored and sod off, or do as Phrank says and you'll rid of him soon enough.

Or you can ignore him, then he will get bored and leave. IP bans don't really work as long as proxies exist |

Using his IP, find his name/address/telephone number, then go to priceline.com to get an airplane ticket and fly to his city, knock on his door, wait for the 12 year old to answer the door, ask him if he is the 'so and so' user, then beat the living crap out of him. Just like in Jay and Silent Bob
