Personally, a successful boad is one with a good volume of members that are decent and obide by the rules, one run by staff that are fully capable of running the board and of course friendly admins. Sod the number of posts, I see that as meaning nothing as a high number of posts could just mean lots of spam.

A successful board is one that the members enjoy coming to.

1 million posts and 20,000+ members. I think by then, you would know that the admins of that forum would know how to manage a forum, preventing spam, etc. And I don't mean something like hiring a bunch of people just to spam post and create multiple accounts, etc.

A successful board doesn't need to have a lot of posts, it just needs to be active, have a low amount of spam and a staff that aren't powerhungry, like the Admins at the Removed |

And people wonder how a certain forum got to be so big. 3 advertising posts for them in this topic alone, and one in this, despite our rules, because people have always looked the other way. I'm tired of it, and so are some others. Maybe the next person to do it gets suspended for a few weeks, huh? Anyway, this topic isn't about your forum or any other specific forums, so no links, no names, no abbreviations, no "my forum blahblah" if the link to it is in your sig, got it? Good. |
