That is the best way of doing it  I would use IE for that too.Unfortunatly I "use myshoutbox" on my site though...which I dont trust..but my members claim they need

If a website is poorly coded, I wouldn't trust it securitywise :r. Anyway, what about tabs? And extentions? There is an IE skin... |

IE does have tabbed browsing if you use their shell. Maxthon. actually if you go to their site.... i think the title of Maxthon is "Maxthon Tabbed Browser" ...it's the very first feature they mention... I still don't get the tab browsing feature..i mean yeah its a ok but is it really that much better than CTRL-N browsing? Not by that much. |

*prepares to get beat with a crowbar* I dont use any extentions. Or tabbed browsing. t gets all crunched up. Not to say IE doesn't get crunched up too but I'm just used to IEs crunch more. Does that make any sense. :wacko: Really though, where is the IE skin? If it's decent I'll consider switching completely. |

I visit plenty of webpages that aren't coded righted in firefox but they are in IE. They aren't dangerous either, and I have no reason whatsoever to believe that they are a security risk. As an example, theres nothing dangerous about someone using the <center></center> tags instead of the right tags. But that affects the webpage if the webmaster doesn't know any better. |

Oh, but apparently you can install an extension to make them work properly. :rolleyes: Like you can install an extension to make BBcode work properly.. almost. :rolleyes::rolleyes: And for all sorts of other things to work properly. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes: Not that everything in IE works properly, but the Firefox cult conveniently forgets or brushes off a lot of things.:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Right, exactly. When I say I use IE, I don't mean to say that it's perfect either. All I'm saying is that I like it for some things more than I do firefox, and I would rather use it. I don't care for extentions, at the moment. And as said before the tabbed browsing doesn't help me. I just wind up opening a bunch of firefox windows up when I run out of space in tabbed browsing. That eats so much CPU than IE does for some reason! bottom line is, I too am a little tired of the whole firefox parade. it's a great browser but it sill has flaws, all browsers do anyhow. I will admit firefox IS safer, but it's still not as huge as everyone else thinks. What would you write if you were a spyware creator? I would write for IE! It's STILL more widely used than firefox and I don't care what anyone says about that. IE is targeted more than firefox because thats the browser more use, and I mean TONS use and still use. I'd love to see what would happen if Firefox was just as big as IE |

Tabs work fine for me in Firefox :r. How does BBCode not work properly in Firefox? The post parser has no idea what browser the post is coming from. |

I use both actually. And like JClink said, as long as you use IE for trusted sites like ur own or invisionfree...then it's superior to firefox, no doubt. But security is more important when I'm visiting other sites, and Firefox is superior to others in that aspect. I haven't had a problem with FF tabbing and so didn't add any code. But as far as putting codes in, I put in the code to block 99% of advertising and it works real well  for me. Not unless you've installed an extension that makes them, they don't. Open 3 tabs, then go to the first one, then the third and close the third. Firefox returns to the second tab instead of the first, which is where it should go, since it was the last one used. That's either a bug or poor design, but either way, it's not the proper way it should be.
Try clicking on the code buttons and see what happens. Oh, and the whole tabbed browsing vulnerability gets a big fart from me, anyway. I tend to feel that anyone who gets tricked by such a cheesy and avoidable hack sort of deserves it. :angel: |
