By attempting to make the world perfect we are causing more problems. I never said we should not improve or accept the wrongs. I said we should not try to make it perfect. |

It's not the minorities, it's the government. I don't agree that white males is the group that is most discriminated, but it is the easiest group to discriminate, without any major public reactions. |

I have to agree with you there. Just think of a perfect world, It'll be bad for the most part. Sure, at the begining it's all good. But then, conflicts arise due to what everyone thinks is 'perfect'. So, I'd rather have an Imperfect one, than a perfect one. Besides, if the world has no problems, then what would be the source of innovation to try and stop them? |

Well part of the reason is that the government is primarily rich white men..with a few tokens here and there...so they can target their own race easier. Its just like the way black can call another black a guy a racist word, or a gay guy can call another gay guy a anti-gay word... For example on my site it's primarily persian mods... so when a persian makes fun of another persian on my site I don't think anything of it..but if a white guy on my site gets made fun of by another persian I usually have to step in, b/c he's a minority on it ..and a different race..so it becomes racism. ..But I agree it can get a little too "politically correct" at times. I feel bad for poor white guys, b/c they're sometimes who the the "rich white guys" go after and no one calls it racism..but it is classism. |

Muahahaa! Anyway, I didn't mean to sound like I thought the straight white male was getting the shaft because we don't have vocal groups out there championing our cause or whatever. As you said, there's really no need for it. Not that there's not the occasional injustice like the reverse-descrimination due to quotas, or bias in favor of the woman in child custody cases or whatever, because there is, and that's wrong, but collectively, it's just not a big deal. The only really vocal groups complaining about injustice or descrimination toward the straight white male are those wacky, whining, ultra-rightwing elites that fear losing even the tiniest little bit of the power they've held for so long, and nobody really cares or listens to them anyway, do they? So they don't count, which is why I said what I said. ![]()
That's not necessarily the case. You'll find porn painted or sculpted on the walls of ancient temples and even in caves inhabited 40,000 years ago. It is what you make it, as is prostitution. Neither need be any more dehumanizing an experience than anything else. There are prostitutes and strippers and porn stars that like doing what they do, and even some who would do it even if they weren't getting paid, and there are those who have little or no alternatives. And, as you pointed out, there are parallels with "normal" jobs, which is part of what I was referring to in my other post when I said we're all prostitutes in a way. Most women don't like to hear it or admit it, but they're even more closely related to actual prostitutes, in that they're both genetically and culturally expected to exchange sex for things like security, whether monetary or physical or whatever, etc. Men do the same, but generally have different commodities to barter with. I really see no difference between somebody who enjoys sex or exhibitionism making a living from it than I do somebody who likes to sing doing the same. And I see no difference between a prostitute who does it but doesn't enjoy it, than I do somebody having to cut their hair and wear some stupid uniform to work at Burger King to pay the rent.
That's nowhere near true, despite what certain talk-radio and TV propaganda shows would have you believe. Not that I don't feel for those who are denied college scholarships or whatever due to being white males, etc., but those things are pretty rare and insignificant when compared to blacks routinely being beaten to death by cops or any number of other things.
Firetrucks... vrrooo00M! But no, blow-up dolls are not objectifying women because they have nothing to do with women, whatsoever. Unless you're a fairly disturbed individual, that is. They're a tool for sexual gratification, just like any other sex toy, or your hand, for that matter. They're a hand-upgrade, not a woman-downgrade. ![]()

lol @ the hairy firetruck on maddox's site reference.... but about that airhead, the blow-up doll. It isn't simply an object for self-gratification, it's given every women characteristic plastic can handle other than a brain. If it were simply an upgrade then she wouldn't be given the torso of a women. Unless people are turniing their hands into the windex hand puppet, hand upgrades are usually K-Y or what not, stuff that would actually increase pleasure the addition of limbs is giving the allusion of women characteristics ..the hand puppet is no more an addition to the hand than the object is an actual women. However, by appearance your turning the object into a women.. consider those new blow up models made out of that soft rubber... they are modeled directly off of specific pornstars, no personality is placed on them other than "naughty nurse" or "seductive schoolgirl" ...these are much more considered by me "Downgrades" of females than an upgrade of my hand... ...now the actual logic of upgrade/downgrade can be defended, until one considers the idea of sexual addiction. To argue about the morality of sexism is one thing but the effect it has on people is another... ..you've done a research project on it, so I'm not sure if you've heard of Cooper's works ? He did certain studies on how sexual addiction (specifically online sexual addiction) ...can occur and become similar to sexual problems. ...by the way ..that essay me and u talked about, i'm done, but I doubt it can uphold against a 20page essay ... (mines only 2000 words) ....but if u wanna send urs to me u can... i'm a bit embarrassed about my research (despite getting an A- ) .....but if u want i can send mine.. or post it here..i posted it on my site and its not that long...whichever

Hmm.. interestingly enough, I got the reference wrong. It was the car (or whatever the hell it's supposed to be) that went vrooo00M, not the firetruck. >_< http://maddox.xmission.com/irule2.html Anyway, I doubt I can make you see my point of view, so I won't put much more effort into it, except to suggest that you consider broadening your comparision. You're putting way too much emphasis on a supposed correlation between a doll and a woman. The only reason they make them to look like women is because, to many people, a hunk of plastic just doesn't cut it, for whatever reason. Very rarely is that reason because of anything to do with women. But they sell plenty of hunks of plastic too. And I wonder if you've considered the fact that a woman can choose sexual aides that look and feel exactly like a male penis, rather than a hunk of plastic. Is that dehumanizing or objectifying men, or is it simply offering variety and a more comfortable alternative? As far as sexual addiction, I don't believe in it. (Maybe as a manifestation of obsessive-compulsive disorder, but pretty much anything can be made unhealthy by an obsessive-compulsive.) Nor do I see how it relates to anything mentioned so far. :/ I seriously doubt if I have a copy of my paper anywhere, as it was done several years ago, and it would be 300 miles away in storage if I do have it, but you're welcome to send me yours. ![]() But anyway, I think we knocked the topic a bit off course. |

yeah. I'll agree with your first statement about maddox and your last statement and we'll call it day Has Maddox ever covered anything about sexual objectification? it seems pretty obvious, but I can only recall his webcam-whore parody. lol. (and I've already considered that one site affiliated with him, about badly drawn porn) ![]() There I go off topic again. PS Apparently that VrrrOOOMmmm car was drawn by Seth at the age of four. oooooh the coincidences. |
