Ok, that helps some.. with the basics, anyway. But, of course, it reads a bit like official propaganda from each party. Would I be right in assuming that what the parties say they're about and all that doesn't have much to do with what they do or would do when elected, as it is here in the US? Because if you read any official info about US parties, it's mostly a load of mullet. :/ |

I'm not bothering with voting. The only ones who have a chance in hell are Lib Dem, Labour and the Cons(ervative :r). Shame. Some of the smaller ones might do good. The three giants (well Lib Dem aren't giants but they're bigger than the other little ones) are equally malice, Lib Dem do tend to come across as being 'nice' out of the lot but over the years they have continued to change their minds on things. Not trust worthy at all. Labour...well, Blair's Blair. Howard's a racist imperialist. And Kennedy doesn't have his own mind, it changes as often as his underwear, assuming he changes that often too. ![]() I'm paranoid perhaps but I don't trust any of them, the little ones would become equally corrupt if they grew anyway. We need a leader, I know, but I'll be damned if I'm in charge of placing the idiot we elect. I'm happy sitting on the fence watching society drown. It's fun. |

Well, Our Conservative Party is the same as the American Republicans, and the Labour Party is very close to the Democrats....

My school's gonna have a mock election on Voting Day, and I'm representing the Monster Raving Loony Party ![]() They actually have a really funny manifesto, someone gave the link to it before. But in reality, I really wouldn't trust them in the slightest

I apologise if this gets too heated Any person that votes BNP is a complete *******. The party is made up of complete idiots who think that we should kick out anybody who is not white and not from britain. That is complete stupidity. The BNP are just trying to make excuses for racism, and they think its alright because they surround their policy with other rubbish so that it isn't entirely racist. I am ashamed to say my local town has a large BNP voting presence...its shocking, these idiots should be locked up not allowed to get seats. They are complete *******'s. I realise we live in a "free country" but this is plain stupidity. (i apologise for using the word, "stupid" and "idiot" too many times there, but most of the more appropriate words for the BNP are not allowed on IF) Labour would get my bote, but i can't vote for two more years so meh. Conservitive don't think policy through at all...they just try to slag everybody else off without realising how rubbish they are themselves. Last time they were in power they drove this country into the hole it is now recovering from. They would NOT have done a better job than Labour. Lib Dem would be my second choice, but they are nowhere near as decisive as Mr Blair. Green party...lol...they would have us get rid of most of our new road projects and tax aircraft to use our airspace even more than is already done....that will screw up our economy when airlines boycott. MRLP (Monster Raing Loony Party) - Superb...they should win some sort of award for genius. Thats about the only ones people know about or care about here....so thats that |

Ya, the BNP/UKIP are just thugs!! Some of their own leaders have recently been in court over racist remarks that they made!! But to be a true Democracy, we must tolerate them.....:( |

thing is though, not everybody with a vote realises what they are like, or worst still some people know and still vote for them. we live in a democracy yes, but these people don't deserve any votes |

Agreed. Giving the ignorant, misguided, brainwashed, evil, or just plain stupid people the vote is a dangerous and scary thing that can have horrible consequences, as evidenced by the recent US elections, but none of the alternatives are very pleasant or without their flaws either. :/ |
