The Industry... PS2 is made by the well known company Sony - And as you know Sony don't just do games - They sell TV's, Computers, and More - So in general they make more than both Microsoft and Nintendo per year... Or will start to soon. XBOX is made by the also well known company Microsoft ; Probably - But not in stone - the first to fall out of the Gaming industry - Because their computers are really declining in popularity because of hackableness and IE is VERY unsafe and is getting alot of users pissed from viruses... And since Halo 2 is the ONLY good thing they have (seemingly) over the other two it won't last long Remember... PS2 has GTA games first, earning money for them, people who have PS2 & Xbox won't need GTA for both. PS2 also has Final Fantasy which is the biggest selling RPG series ever! PS2 also has the BEST anime games upto a year before GC and Xbox NEVER gets any. Gamecube has Multiplayer games which rock, GC has Resident Evil 4 and more in the future, which in my opinion, is their ACE of gaming! GC has really cool games which own Xbox easily. Handheld Market... In the very end (if there is one) of Nintendo they will stop the Console market and focus on Handhelds only ; Which could (probably not) knock Sony out of the game in handhelds - Nintendo already had the best handhelds before PSP (Gameboy series) but then (in my opinion) struck out with DS... We dont really have to worry about Microsoft because after the first two consoles I think Microsoft's fan base will die... Meaning, Microsoft WILL be the first of the three to go no doubt. Sony has shown us all their potential with PSP which is really owning Nintendo's ass so far - but nintendo learns from their mistakes and will try something good soon, which may or may not own the handheld market but for atleast 2005-2009 Sony wins this round. Halo Series.... Won't last as long as you might think, they never bring up something new and cool - I'm just waiting for Halo to decrease in popularity as people start to migrate to Nintendo and Sony - You watch, Microsoft could last about 20 years but not in the gaming industry. So what? Xbox has halo which don't put it higher up than Sony and Nintendo for me... Its Quantity AND Quality which Nintendo and Sony both have. Anime Games... Don't like anime? Well, alot of people, including me, LOVE anime and anime GAMES, Nintendo has the DBZ/GT and Pokemon games and not looking to expand, which still gives them points with me. Sony has DBZ/GT and other anime games which are ALL the hottest selling in general... |

I agree with you on the point that Microsoft will die out first. Little productiveness. The only game I EVER play for X-Box is Halo 2. If they want to survive, they need to come up with something NEW, FAST. As for Sony and Nintendo, they're neck and neck. Some things Sony wins out; others, Nintendo. Their sales just depend on the interest of the consumers. There are plenty who lean towards Nintendo, and plenty who lean towards Sony. I believe they will both last as long as the other, or close to it. |

ok im a nintendo guy big time but they need to smarten up or they will get bought out by sony or microsoft nintendo has to start doing what sony and microsoft are doing with there gameing the ds is cool but cmon look what the psp can do and compare gamecube to xbox and ps2 both xbox and ps2 can do so much more stuff the gamecube is only a game system and nothing else they have awsome games for it but it needs for features and stuff or they will be done just like sega |

( cube-europe.com , japan sales few weeks ago ) i guess XSLASH is right, nintendo is good in what they do and that is games, but sadly that won't do any longer, you need all multimedia stuff in your console to get the mainstream buying your console, wich is needed to stay alive. but then again, the ones who do buy nintendo stuff is more then anough to keep them alive and kicking. they just need to be carefull with the revo, integrate a DVD player and you're set for some more sales  .( hey PPB, you here as well?  )

I'm not talking about sales. I'm talking about what they do, what they CAN do. Nintendo can do anything that Sony can, and vice versa. Your little stats just prove my point: It's just that so many people these days prefer basking in the blood of their victims in mindless shooting and killing games of Sony, and few care about the complex puzzles or, sometimes even comedic, gameplay that Nintendo has to offer. Plus, [exaggeration]about 500,000,000 people[/exaggeration] like PS2 better because it has a DVD player in it. Last time I checked, gaming systems were for playing games. |

Fixed.  I believe Nintendo will hold it's own for many years with handhelds, sony with consoles, and Microsoft may just turn out to be big for modding both sony and nintendo products, you never know. |

actually dont be to sure on XBOX going out first. the creator of FF has left square enix and actually went to Microsoft. so microsoft could be in the mist of some killer RPG games. i did read that somewhere. |

As I recall, I saw a sign in Toys R Us saying "Microsoft Xbox $254,000,000,000,965". :E Squaresoft has nothing to do with Microsoft. Period. |

WTF did you do to your sig????! Also... I hope the FF XBox game sucks like the crappy games on gamecube that have the FF name on them so they sell more, even though they suck... FF's true home is the Ps2.

I think that all of you are under-estimating the X-BOX, it has much more power that the GC and the PS2 combined. The possibilities with the X-BOX are about as endless as the posibilities with the PCs. There are other games for X-BOX besides Halo 2, there is also Unreal Championship 2: The Liandri Conflict, Mercenaries: Playground of Destruction, Midnight Club 3, Chronicles of Ridick, DOOM 3, Splinter Cell, Knights of the Old Republic(RPG)- which won the game of the year, Pariah, Dead or Alive series, Fable, Jade Empire, Mech Assault, Project Gotham, Sudeki, Crimson Skies, Brute Force, Blood Wake, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, Dead to Rights, Enter the Matrix, Full Spectrum Warrior, Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, Simpsons: Hit and Run, SpyHunter, Sonic Heroes, Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, and many other great games that I dont have time to list. |
