i also have no problem with quality support. its really the ones that tag EVERY new general support topic out there. and that 25 second wait time to repost kills them everytime. these are the guys that killed me from helping. i loved helping out cuz ive seen damn near every type of topic out there. back when i helped out, it was always me adon and the good ole ocelotJay bump, set, and spiking everything with quality help. we were a good trio but then this WAVE of support started to appear and it was HORRIBLY detrimental to alot of needy users. after that i tried to still help but EVERYTHING i posted was swamped by a heap of 3 word posts asking something about something else and nothing i did would help...[rant]darn Burner and his -Burner after every freaking post![/rant] there are a few gems out there like ole Paul Ritter. he was before your time and it was sad to hear him go, but yeah a few always stick out but its hard to notice them when there is so much compitition over post count... thats why alot of us s=dislike support volunteers |

Did I say the words "Super" or "Goku" in my message? I didn't say anything to one individual, I'm talking about the people who obviously give out wrong information. Of course you don't fit that description. :E And please, call me Kam. XD |

I find it so annoying when someone with two posts says they are a Support Volunteers, then they make about 10 topics asking easy questions. I think you should have to take a test to be able to say you are a Support Volunteers.

Can I just take a minute to laugh hysterically about that statement? Actually, I think I'll need 10 minutes. No, strike that.. it'll take a good half hour or more, and then I'll be back to finish my thought. But yeah, briefly, "Support Volunteer" really has nothing to do with those who voluntarily provide support. And putting that label in your sig or title is misleading to those who don't know it's nothing official. |

Yeah I don't like support volunteers either.. I don't think they're really volunteers either b/c every time they help me i feel like i owe them something or i have to pay them with thank yous. Ok then let me ask you this.... What does everyone have against the "IF Psychological and Mental Support Volunteer" ???? To my knowledge I'm the only one offering these services, and I have been doing so for a few months now...yet those of you who are sane refuse to join my team, and those of you who are not refuse to lie still on the psychologist's couch. As for giving mental support.. I'm always giving constructive compliments and supporting everyone's decisions..and encouraging people to do what they want... and basically have become the biggest "Yes-Man" out there...yet no one else seems to help..Which has lead me to believe that either you are all insane, or that I am insane, in which case none of you have offered me support...making you all insane. |

Oh, come on.. at least give me time to stop laughing from Iostream's post. He was trying desperately to get on staff here for whatever reasons, he pioneered the "thank you" post, which probably accounted for 1000 of his post count, and I personally must have corrected at least 1000 of his incorrect answers, and probably more like 2000. That "one mistake" was actually several, on top of all that other stuff I mentioned, but since we didn't have the Support Volunteer rule topic or the Restricted (Support) group back then, we had to wait for something so blatant as that "one mistake" to justify doing anything. People who don't know what they're talking about shouldn't make statements that make it sound like they do. Anyway, I've had my laugh, and my sides hurt from it, and I'd rather this topic not get personal, so we can now refrain from mentioning any names. [edit] Jay's a poopiepants. [/edit] [edited edit] "People who don't know what they're talking about shouldn't make statements that make it sound like they do." sounds harsh.. I'm not saying you don't know what you're talking about in general, just in this case, and that people, in general, should know they're right before making claims.. but, I'm tired, and can't really think of a decent way to say it, so.. meh. [/edited edit] |

lol for the edit. Now... The Only Support Volunteers I hate are those who give incorrect support and are ignorant to go about and correct them. I mean, all of us (well, all of us who dared to step to the Support Forums) are Support Volunteers. We volunteer to give people support. So, the only... ah forget it. I've said enough. |

Sorry, I guess I should clarify. When I said we'd refrain from mentioning names, what I really meant was that we shouldn't talk about any specific people, not necessarily just referring to them by name. So, no more questions or comments about individuals, just support volunteers in general, ok? Thanks.

Theres nothing wrong with support volunteers, most of them do a good job of giving support. The tittle, or anything reguarding declaring yourself a support volunteer isnt bad either. Theres only 1 way to describe the people who give bad support. Wanna be - A person who acts like someone that they are not Alot of guys go "Hey...these support volunteer guys are cool, I know how to run MY board, so I think I can help anybody and everybody!" When they go give support to a question to something they have never encountered, thats where they make a mistake. People rushing to a thread to make a supportive post is an over-statement. We get several board members, meaning member A and member B could have both been in the same topic giving support. Now if member B posts just 1 second later then he should edit his post saying he was beaten to it by accident, instead of rushing to another topic. comprende? |
