go on, explain why Avant doesn't support any of that standards-compliant code.

Because it's TEMPORARILY based on the dumbest Browser ever. ;)
I prefer KHTML more than Gekko or Opera or IE. ;)

KHTML supports standards-compliant.

Funny, has it ever been based on anything else? Temporarily eh.

KHTML is not better than Gecko. Well, it is smaller. Too bad its rendering is sub-par (although still better than IE )

Oh, and to quote yourself earlier:

1) Look at all those programs built for IE! *gasp*

2) Those links you linked to! They won't work anymore! *gasp*

You're contradicting yourself now. Goodbye credibility.

All 4 of those pages load perfectly in Opera without any problems, I'm telling you guys Opera is better then Avant, Maxthon, IE [By A Big Shot], and even FireFox.

Actually.. just the third link functions properly in Opera. That's not really Opera's fault though, that code is proprietary and OLD. And I mean old, from the IE 4.x series *shivers*.

By the way, Sirin, you seem to be changing your mind a lot. First you say Avant is better because it runs on the IE engine, then you say IE is the dumbest browser ever made. I also haven't seen any proof of Avant considering changing it's rendering engine.

First of all: If Avant switches to Gecko, users will think of it as "Just some double to Firefox", and then, Avant will lose up to 95% of customers forever and then Avant will have no choice but to shut down. So they have no choice but to go to KHTML. ;)

I like the ENGINE better than the browser itself (IE). And by the way, Avant might not change until they see a loss in users. ;)

I like Opera; it's standards-compliant ^_^ Firefox is a better fit for me though. But I would recommend either browser.

Opera is good, but the tool bars are god-awful.

You can customize them and even remove them if you wish, just about everything in Opera is customizable.

Avant is bad. It is based off a bad IE engine.

CSS3 <----CSS3 example. Show me a browser other than Firefox that give that box rounded corners.

If Avant changes to KHTML, it's just a double to K-Meleon! I'll switch to K-Meleon! :P

I have seen no proof Avant is even thinking about switching. All I see is an old forum post with a feature request.

The engine, as has already been proven, is crap.

You said that Avant is great because you can view all the sites that can only be viewed in IE, because it is based on the IE engine, but now you say that that is only temporary?

WTF?

In Opera it's a perfect rectangle. :'(

I am aware. Firefox is the best browser.
It is always with the current technology which is great for page designers.

Yes, I like the Mosaic's compatibility with sites, but it's security measures need a whole lot of improvance.

It's not the page itself that doesn't work, it's the Javascript it mentions (like the draggable cars in the first example).

Yeah. Being on a dual-booted Mac with OS X and Ubuntu, I generally use Safari and Firefox respectivly. i like Safari because of WebKit (Apple's KHTML based rendering engine) and Firefox because it's the best for the rest. ;)

KHTML Sucks?

The template http://atxproject.net/betasite/index.php sometimes renders horrendously wrong in Gecko based browsers where Safari & Konqueror (even old versions from KDE 3.0) render it perfectly. Gecko seems to panic when I add a valign attribute within the images on the navigation bar thats really a table within a table. It causes the left column of the table below (the page content) to completely forget how wide it is and causes the side table (grey on the right) to lose it's valign attribute.
