Just another thing to keep us occupied as we haunt the support team.. Basically the rules of it would be.. -Give quality support or be kicked out you must also fufill your quota of support questions a week or be kicked out. If you break forum rules you will be kicked out. How we would tell who's in what clan Custom titles. What we do, well basically you guys { the staff can make competitions and such to keep us active and giving support.} Maybe throw us a prize bone every now and then. And basically this also serves to create lasting online friendships as well as giving people another reason to give the best support possible. What do you guys think? |

Hell no. <_< It's bad enough that people still use the term 'Support Volunteer' (and that there are so many idiotic SVs around) without adding clans. >_< Sure there are good peeps who give decent support, but this will just enflame the situation and bring more people who know nothing to give support. Besides - rewards for giving support? Why would we do that? :/ The staff do the exact same thing, we only get an e-mail, a title and a coloured name - which is really to seperate us from members. We don't get special prizes for doing this everyday. Cept cookies.

Yay for yet another person trying to make a mini-staff group. As Jay said: hell no. I'd just... leave... if that idea ever came to be  Well, probably not actually, but i'd have a lot more to rant about. You can't get rid of me that easily  |

Aww, you two are too mean. Support Volunteers = bad. They give a bad name. Being one is bad. A clan would be a nightmare. Support Volunteers give bad support. I refer to good support people as Support Members. Not volunteers. WE are the only volunteers around here. |

I see your concerns and I guess it would be pretty bad. I wasnt trying to set up a mini staff though. Just thinking there are good support members { somewhere out there } I always "try" my best when giving support I may be just a tad slower cause I actually take the time to read the documentation rather than just copy/pasting it so if they have any more questions I can give them the answers. But you guys are adamant to say the least so Ill go back to my corner now  |

We do know there are good support-giving members out there, we're always watching and do notice the good people - guess I was a little mean there - it's just that there are so many of the stereotypical (sp?) 'support volunteers' which just annoy me so much, that I instantly hated the idea. We do notice you good support-givers, and do appreciate you for it, trust me. Actually, it's the good ones that keep my sanity intact

Not only that, but the quota bit would make it worse. I'm sure some not so good 'support volunteers' would try to fill that quota and maybe not put enough effort into helping a user. As well, how would you even keep track of it all. I think it would overall be a bad idea, however I'm not trying to discourage you from having 'ideas'. Thinking is good. .. :unsure:I think this would just cause confusion on the boards and would just be one more thing that needs to be looked after. It's not necessary either. If you want to help in support, that's wonderful and you are appreciated as long as you know what you're doing. |

A support clan would be hard to manage anyway, especially if you don't know who else is in it. As a member, it'd better to just do it on your own. I have noticed bad support being given out by some members, and I begin to wonder - why do they do it? It's not helping, and it defeats the purpose of support volunteering. If you become restricted from support, won't it just damage your reputation? |

I think if there ever was a SV clan IF would lose alot of good members due to the crappy support. I mean yeah some give good support already but alot of the SV's give poor support and most of the answers are wrong. I think IF should have a policy about SV's and poor support. The restricted support thing really doesnt seem to work good anymore. And i mean that in a way that there are way too many people giving bad support that the IF staff cant keep up. |

That's true Daniel, Maybe Volunteers should just be required to study for and take a test to see if they can actually do the job. Like only people that pass the test would be recognized support volunteers... That comes really close to another mini staff group though. Idk what we should do about I often get annoyed myself when I go looking in the support forum and see like 1 person answering like 9-10 questions and only getting like 2 of them right. And then there is correct but lacking support that most people do is they just copy/paste a link to documentation. Sometimes they dont read or understand it themselves and if the member has another questin they are often unable to help because they are out giving more half-a**ed support. It's not even the bad/wrong support that bother most of us I am thinking. It's the people that know how to do it right that make it some kinda routine. Wherein they just copy/paste and move on without thinking the member who asked the question may need to have it explained to them. |

We do not want to limit members giving support. They are free to do it whenever they want, for whatever question it is. Of course, if we see them giving false support continuously, we will end up restricting them from support. That is just to keep the support forums clean, with good, handy support. We have no other choice at times, other than restrciting people, from support, pms, or just banning them altogether, if they constantly become a pest at this site. |

:o Haha, that would just enflame the situation more. The Support Volunteer population will grow until it reaches a point where they attempt to take over InvisionFree. ![]() And it would promote more of these.. ermm... clans so there will one day be Moderator Volunteer, and possibly Admin Volunteers. ![]() Hopefully it won't come to that, so no.

We have a few 'Mod Volunteers' already. One has (had?) it as his title, the others just backseat moderate without the title. >_< Heh, wonder what the 'Admin Volunteers' would do? Just say boink?
