Have you guys ever thought about maybe having an elite membership? or is that another bad idea

Though how would that group's members be picked?

By Post Count - Then you just get tons of spam
By Join Date - Alot of the old members are inactive
By Support Knowladge - Then you just have another support team
By people liking them - Then you have another mod group :P

Twilight is upon me, and soon night must fall.

The Staff have said time and time again that we will not do any special member groups.
1. Because it elevates a person(s) above the rest.
2. Because Staff would choose who would be in or it would be auto, promoting spam.
3. It would make more problems than solve them.

You assume us mods are liked?

Hard truth is I'm despised (and most probably hated) by many people. It's hard to suspend someone without them turning into an idiot who blames everyone but themselves for what happened. :ermm: Maybe if people took responsability for their actions once in a while...

But anyway, the elite group thing has been thrown around a few times and it's just too much hassle. It seperates one set of member from another, how it is done is irrelevant because the outcome is the same: normal members feel unspecial while the elites get bigheaded. Not everyone's like that but it's a problem I've seen at every forum that has an elite group. :/

Yes, but it seems that when mods are first picked it has alot to do with how many people in the community like them, and know them.

I frequently google for sites that hate me. I've found none. And since no one ever sent me any rude pm's, I guess I'm sorta liked by most. Though I have no idea why. Must be the avatar.

:E I used to believe that this was a cool idea, back when I was still like, what, half dumb about what IF was. But now that I'm more mature, I feel it's a really dumb idea. People who give their support voluntarilly (sp?) and correctly are already respected by Mods and Support Staff alike. We're helping them make their job easier, and they like it! But it doesn't mean that they have to put us members in a special group.

I don't give my help to get a shiny @invisionfree.com email or a shiny blue name, I just give it because I want to.
