I got fed up with IE and switched to FireFox. Lately I have been getting fed up with FireFox. I've noticed that every time I download too many files at once, it uses too much CPU power and too much memory. It loads slowly, and some of my downloads get corrupted. Upon downloading corrupt downloads again they are fine. So then I started searching for a browser that satisfied my needs. And I found Avant Browser. I am so impressed that I will stick with it from now on. You can turn off ActiveX which is also good, because it posses a security risk in my opinion and is IE’s main weakness. I also like the mouse gestures feature that comes with it. The program and pages load quickly as well. It has the same features as FireFox and more. It makes IE look like a newbie and FireFox look trivial. I am so impressed at this new browser. I recommend you check it out if you are looking for a new browser. What other browsers have people had good experiences with? |

Excuse me whell I hit my head on the keyboard since there was a big topic about this before and it was ugly. I used avant I still get the pop ups and every thing from spyware I cant get out of the system that pop up with IE so I can say its not as good as Firefox.Tryed even to turn ActiveX off did not work |

All Avant is is a shell for IE. IE explorer is the worst thing ever. Sure you could turn off active X, but you still get all of thoose adware/spyware. Insead of being rash and switching browsers you should haave asked for help. I am sure you FF troubles could be easily fixed. |

All browsers slow down for multiple downloads it is the limit of you conection being shared among multiple things which means it will slow. Advant is but a skin over IE meaning it is really IE being run with all the security holes, every last one, every single one. It has the same %$#@$#% rendering the same #$%@#$% slowness and every this else that IE has, except the name. Any person can make a program to open another one. Your not very good at security if you only worry about one of IE's holes (activeX) you should worry also about the ones that Avant and Maxathon share. |

lol, I never used Avant Browser, but i dont think it beats FF. Been using FF for months and my goodness im so happy i did. Faster Browsing, no deadly "This program has performed an illegal operation". It goes like this. IE < Avant < FireFox |

Wow that was quite a vigorous response. Well I prefere it, so I'm going to keep it  In my opinion it is faster, and suits my needs.May I ask exactly how the spyware ends up on my computer?
You have to add * to the pop-up block list

you did not read it fully I get pop ups for some program installed that my anti ad/spy ware programs dont pick up. |

Are you planing something? They use security holes in IE, which Advant and maxathon run because they are basicly IE from within a fancy skin, to hide what is happending. |

I've been using IE, and it works just fine. I mean if you're getting all of that adware/spyware, I suggest running a virus scan other than once every three years. Or, you might possibly get a good virus protection program. FireFox freezes whenever I open it, so it's useless to me. :ph34r: |
