IE7 Is only going too be out for XPSP2+ Why is it when Microsoft fix things they get hammered for it? At least they fix the bugs. |

Because the bugs should have been fixed before it was shipped with every single PC. Oh, and they should have fixed the bugs before releasing it. And the security wholes. And given it tabbed browsing. . . |

You can never fix all bugs and secrity holes before making it public you know. Tabbed browsing sucks, Thats the whole reason windows had that taskbar at the bottom of you screen. |

I fully believe that Micro$oft put many of the "bugs" in there deliberately, and just didn't care about the others because they didn't have to. And you might not be able to fix all the bugs before release, but you shouldn't release something with 1000 bugs.  And tabbed browsing doesn't suck. Not sure why you'd say that. Nor does the taskbar have anything to do with anything. The only thing wrong with tabbed browsing is that you can't use alt+tab to switch, but there's probably an alternative key combo to switch between tabs, I just haven't bothered trying to find out. |

Another beautiful example of extensions: Most tabbed-browsing extensions come with a keyboard command. It's Ctrl+PgUp and Ctrl+PgDn for Swift Tabs. For Tabbbrowser Preferences, it's the F# keys. |

and there we go again adding another 3000 extentions thats gonna slow it down even more. I remember i saw someone say a few months ago that they didnt like IE because you have to install extra extensions to get it to do things they wanted but FF comes along with more annoying extentions and people are all for it. What the deal with that? |

ooooh! As much as I love my firefox I would LOVE for Microsoft to make an IE7 with full CSS2 support, full .png support (including partial transparency) and more standart compliant behavior. Oh what cool and easy website you could make! You wouldn't need workarounds and javascript to make your website display in IE like W3C intended it! I'd probably still use Firefox but think of the possibilities for webmasters *jumps up and down* No more hairpulling when doing css layouts... and the nifty effects you could make with partially transparent pngs  Now on another note I must admit I'm a pessimist... I want to see full CSS and png support from Microsoft before I belive it... And even then, how long would it take before 80% of people browsing the web actually used standart compliant browsers? *Sigh* @peachy: on the 'alt' attribute... it's true that IE gets it wrong when it displays the 'alt' attribute as a mouse-over text. Use the 'title' attribute instead if you want a mouse-over text in both IE and firefox  (used the same way as you would the alt thingie)

I don't like FF. IE is better as I've already said (even though you all [99%] seem to disagree). eg. FF hasnt got coloured scrollbars! and doesnt aol have tabbed browsing as well? I think it's good their bringing out a new version and I'll most probably use it! |

No no, you use CTRL + TAB. No extension needed. And just like ALT + F4 closes a window, CTRL + F4 closes a tab. This works in every Windows and Linux application. |

I think seth meant moving from one tab to another. That would be ctrl+tab indeed. alt+tab is moving from window to window. Just discovered ctrl+tab now. So good. |

Exactly! Just what i'd loike to see. See, I know it doesn't matter for most of use who use Firefox, but for some of us that code sites, it does, because if they can just manage to get it standards-compliant, it's be a lot better for us. No more tweaking sites to work with IE. Even though that doesn't happen all the time, but it happens enough
Heh, typical. tubborn MS for you, everyone must upgrade to their latest OS (costs loads + needs a powerful PC just for the OS = >_< ) otherwise they don't get it. And for the IE users, they don't get the latest 'security updates', bugfixes etc. Like I said:
