I don't see how that's necessarily hypocritical at all. But then I don't agree that all killing is wrong either. If you rape or kill my sister, she better have raped or killed your loved one first, or I'm killing you. Slowly. Perhaps with sand paper.. There's a difference between justified killing and mere antisocial behavior. |

In a world where justice was perfect I would vote YES to the death penalty. If someone deliberately took my sister's life I'd want them to die for it, but since the system isn't perfect I would say no. I'd hate to find out years later that they got the wrong guy/girl. |

Eh.. heart attacks are very painful. That's usually how people know they're having one. ![]() The gas chamber would also probably be painful. Lethal injection, on the other hand, might just be the pain of the needle, I really don't know. I don't really see that it matters though. If they deserve to die, surely they deserve some pain. |

In my honest opinion i think you a person kills someone or the person is a serial killer that person needs to die. and not die with life in prison. I think they need to take them from the court room to the woods and blow thier brains out. but i guess thats my honest opinion. and i really could care less what people have to think about my opinion. well other than Phrank. Now if they are a serial rapist they should be casterated (sp) If the person is a child molester they should be casterated then die from lethal injection. |

I would go for life inprisionment .... If someone killed me I would hope they rotted in jail - I can't say what I would want if someone raped me ... because it has yet to come up (I honestly hope it never does) but knowing me I would probably want them beated and then sent to rot in jail - Not killed. I just cant fathom how killing of any sort is right. I can not picture how this person, who has taken anothers life, is something other than a human being suddenly now that that fact has been exposed, and how they should some how now be a compleetly useless shell. No they can't be allowed in society, No they really DONT work well with others, but can they still be of use to that society? yes. I happen to think so. So (in my opinion) should they be killed? I dont think so. I remember talking to my dad about it at one point, (he happens to belive that those who have comitted crimes against humanity; IE: killing many people, or being responsible for many deaths - such as Gorge Bush - should be given the death penalty, but no others. ) and he mentioned to me as a quick example off the top of his head, the bird man of alcatraz. His research with birds was a fantastic contribution (as far as bird societys were concern anyways, and actualy as far as I am concerned as well) there are other, many of them I am shure; who have ideas that could contribute and aid society at least in small ways just like those outside of prisions. If their dead, that is, generaly speaking, an imposibility. and then theres the screw ups and the fail points and imperfections in the system (which will always be present in one way or another, humans are not perfect and never will be ... I dont happen to think there is such a thing as perfect anyways, though there might be close, nothings really perfect.) If you got the wrong person ... it would cause a hell of a lot of problems, and at current, there have been people who have been tried in the us and found later not to be guilty (THIS IS EVEN WITH DNA EVEDENCE THANKS - its not perfect ethier, and even if it was, the humans conducting the investigations, and the processes through which it is uncovered? those are not) so I will be happy without the death penalty thanks ... Some how it just does'nt seem right that one human should be allowed to take anothers life ... in any sence. |

wow this si hot subject! i think killing criminals is wrong. its emoral and i dont know about christians, but in jewisness your not allowed to kill anyone. and like alamir said you cant kill killing with killing. i think its wrong for a couple of reasons. well the first one is what if you have the wrong guy. then this is a prooved fact that for every 5 black people there is 1 white man jailed, now a lot of epople might not garee wiuth me and with the fact. but yes , its true. after that i think its wrong to kill them, if you want tp punish them you need to throw them in a really rough jial for the rest of there lifes to complete rot to death. may thatell teach em a lesson. after that may be think of the family, i mean you know kids take after there parents, its a provn fact also that every 6 out 7 seven convicted criminal there children take after them it breaks up the family and just grings out more criminals to the street and get the amount of crime bigger. then think how much poisen we could save ot electricity. and iif you really want to kill some one, i think its ok to torchur [to a certain extent] but tochur them and treat them really badley. maybe try and have like parolles for people who might even be able to behave and may be give them better meals or something ... any ways ... devil out |

I'm against the death penalty. I think that rotting away in a cell withlittle outside contact is worse than being killed with a non-painful needle...and even given to you while you were asleep. Seriously, what kind of pay-back is that? Here, I slashed your entire families wrists and then tortured them until they died from either hunger or they just couldn't take it anymore. Would you want me to be killed when it would obviously cause me no pain? I tinhk the death penalty is stupid, plain and simple. |

Victims generally feel safer if their attacker is dead rather than locked up. By "victims" I mean someone that was attcked (eg raped) not killed & also friends and family. |

Killing someone is not a form of justice..it just proves your as bad as them. Kill someone for murdering your parents and you're no better than them. You are a murderer, too. It doesn't matter who made the first action. "Have I not destroyed my enemies by making friends of them?" --Abraham Lincon EDIT: And what the hell are you guys talking about? "NON-painful needle?" Lethal injection, gas chamber, etc. brings suffering far beyond what we can imagine...answer this...if lethal injection is so "non painful", why do the victims writhe in pain on the floor, frothing at the mouth, uncontrollably spasming? They must be shouting for joy, huh? HA HA HA HA! This makes me sick...this whole topic. "Oh, yeah, this guy killed some one, let's kill 'em back, in as painful a manner as possible!" It's a word filter. A word filter :$ (sorry) :$ |

"SOYLENT GREEN IS PEOPLE!!!" What happened to "An Eye for an Eye and the whole world goes blind"? Isn't that what the death penalty is? Life in Prison without parole is far worse than the death penalty. Look at the Michael Ross case! The man is willing to die because life in prison is so horrible. In my opinion, life in prison is far worse than the death penalty. |

The death penalty is immoral, costly, and unconstitutional. It costs around $2.3 million for a single execution, while keeping a prisoner in a maximum security prison for 40 years cost $750,000. Besides, whatever happened to the right to life? You know, Declaration of Independence? How about cruel and unusual punishment? I'm pretty sure killing someone is cruel. |
