No you are all missing the point! Though you share my view that there should be no death penalty, i do not respect it because the only reason you don't want it is because they could suffer even MORE in jail! The whole reason I'm against it is because you can't make a right with two wrongs... make them suffer even more and you're worse than they are!

Y'know why justice is blind? An eye for an eye!

The death penalty is immoral, costly, and unconstitutional.

It costs around $2.3 million for a single execution, while keeping a prisoner in a maximum security prison for 40 years cost $750,000.

Besides, whatever happened to the right to life? You know, Declaration of Independence? How about cruel and unusual punishment? I'm pretty sure killing someone is cruel.

i don't know what state you talking about but where i live, but it only cost $86 for the chemicals to make the lethal injection.

You kiddin me? They've got cable TV in jails nowadays. Besides, the safety of the people comes first. If it's necessary to lock them up in order to ensure that they do not hurt or kill anyone else, then so be it.

Yes, i know, but it's the intention that matters...people wanted them to go to jail just because they thought it would be worse than death..Let me ask you this...doesn't wanting to have someone else suffer a fate worse than death make you worse than a murderer?

Think about that...

If we do not have the power to give life, we really shouldn't be in the busniess of taking it away. The fact that most juries that convict and put people on death row are persons who are not peers of the ones they convict. I mean, to get on a jury, as Dennis Miller said, you have to prove you don't know Jack about anything. The fact as someone pointed out, with security, arrangments, automatic appeals and the like, it costs far more to put a man on death row than it does to keep them alive in prison. The fact that no, even with DNA there are many errors that occur, many man made errors.

After we elminate bais in the US. After we get a perfect legal system. After we can fix the error of killing someone when we are found out to be wrong, only then will I even consider supporting the death penlaty.

Yes, bias...about 90% of people on death row are black or hispanic

What a coincidence!!!

I guess whites don't do anything wrong. :@

Before you start talking about death make a better legal system!

nope not all cuz this one guy went to jail but he didnt kill anyone and i think 10 years later they tested the dna because they decided not to because they tought they were possitive that he was the killer so i went to jail then they found out he was guilty and he got out of jail and recived like 3 mill because he was in there for like 10 or 20 years
but if that was in usa they woulda killed him so thats why i say no but they both have there reason's that are good and bad

Your completely wrong. A person doesn't get convicted and goes to the death chair the next day. It takes up to 25 years sometimes. I don't think you should use your "USA Stereotypes" to make a comment on something. ;) If anything it takes longer than most countries because the legal system in the USA takes years to go through.

No Cruel and unusual punishment is public execution by the guilotine and the ax. Killing somone by lethal injection in not cruel, they infact put you to sleep first. You don't even know what happens.

And that means what....?

So what? If it isn't accurate, or is plauged by errors, or has a cruel and inhuman punishment in the end, whats the point of us "pumping out more rulings" than other nations?

And Special Forces, so, according to you, it isn't cruel to take the life of another human?

Mny times, especially with cough cough minorities cough cough..

Excuse me  , the victims aren't put to sleep before lethal injections  .

Also, getting an axe to the head is more humane than gas chamber, etc. Because it is instant and painless, unlike lethal injection.

I was referring to XSLASH's comment that it would be have quicker in the US. That was the only thing I'm pointing out. ;)

And no I didn't say taking someone else's life isn't cruel. I said that Cruel and Unusual Punishment referes to how it is done. ;)

Yes they are, look it up. I remember it very clearly when they put Timothy McViegh to death.

Getting an axe to the head isn't instant, it takes a few "chops" to get through. :r

Does it? When does it say that?

I'm pretty sure the outcome is also part of "cruel and unsual punishment"

Read those 3 paragraphs, it'll even tell you what chemicals put them to sleep.
