IE faster than FF?

I use it all the time in Firefox.
I was just saying that I thought it was a good feature, since some others didn't seem to think it's useful.
And pointing out that it, like most Firefox features people always use as reasons you should switch to it, it's also available on IE-based browsers.

Phrank, give Maxthon a whirl instead of Avant. Personally I used to love Avant Browser and would recommend it to everyone, but after using Maxthon for a while, I prefer it because of small stuff. Plus I posted in the Feature Requests board on Avant and no-one ever got back to me. Ever.

I might do that.
I've yet to find anything I don't like about Avant, but you did mention a couple things about Maxthon that I'd like to check out.

 Built in RSS reader too.... :r My favorite feature of Maxthon though, is if you click and drag a link, it auto-opens in a new window. You would not believe how nice that is.

Support Tickets >> link - drag, link - drag, link - drag. 10 pages opened in a couple of seconds, no right clicking or holding CTRL needed :D

 I think FF works alot faster and smoother than IE....I've never tried any other browser, but after reading might look into trying others. As Phrank said, one of the features I like about FF is the middle click opening a new tab. I like how you can have your bookmarks along the top, much easier jumping between fav sites, and also multiple browsers in tabs, instead of a completely new browser, saves alot of confusion. After the first use of FF when 1.0 came out, I have never used IE since and doubt I'd ever go back. ;)

Are you nuts? I can load so many pages under the same window and it uses a lot less ram at the same time. It also keeps my taskbar clean by only having one window instead of 10!

Firefox blazes if you pipeline it.

Its not really all about if you get a virus or not with IE its the spyware and adware. And you do get a lot more of that with IE!! Run a ad-aware or spybot scan your computer might have more than you think on it.

Your right if you pipeline it is awesome, to look at what can be tweaked in Firefox type about:config in the url bar and hit enter, you can also grab firetune here,

to speed it up, it does back up your original settings too.I have ran this for a long time and have had maybe 1 spyware file a week(on my desktop), just updated adaware on this laptop which was 92 days behind and had Zero spyware files on it.

I think I did that a while back because the jerky scrolling was bugging me, and after turning the smooth scrolling on, it was too slow and I had to spin my mousewheel 50 times or something stupid just to scroll through topics here.

Why don't you just click the wheel and drag the mouse?

I just started using IE again today, and I can't believe I ever left it for ForeFox! :wub:

It blazes compared to its counterpart, and it has a lot smoother look to its scrolling.

It also actually uses most codes and has no problem with downloads!

I thought for sure FF was the best, but now I am seeing IE through different eyes. Does anyone know why my IE might have gotten so much insanely faster than my FireFox all of a sudden? It's freaking me out a bit, but in a good way. :lol:

I'm just so happy, it's a million times faster than FireFox! Sorry for the random rant, but this is awesome. I can't believe so many people hate IE and prefer FF. This is by far the better browser.

Sorry for the seemingly useless ramble again, but I just want to get this out there: IE does NOT suck! Why does everyone hate it?


1.) Blazes as in cluttering your desktop, and unbeatable loss of popup control? You are correct in that case, my friend.

2.) Firefox has no problems with downloads.

3.) Uh, you have some futuristic prototype of IE that SEEMS better than FF?

4.) Firefox loads this whole website in .0213 seconds. Can IE do that?

5.) We don't like IE because it's less secure than IE and clutters the desktop way too much. I can have as much as 36 windows of IE open and crash, or have 36 tabs open and not crash. Which one would you choose?

6.) Did you know that IE was once deleted by a Microsoft Spyware Detector? ^_^

7.) Did you know that if you go to a website like Outwar in Firefox it's perfectly safe, but if you go there in IE you get like 4 popups and a hell of alot of "Huntbar, Gator, etc" spyware installers? It gets annoying to see lots of ads at your favorite website too.

"Damn, my favorite website sucks now! It has tons of ads!"
"Get Firefox and download Adblock, and WALA! It's done! You don't need no silly TOOLBAR that doesn't even BLOCK more than one popups, when you can simply download Firefox and you won't even remember what a popup is after acouple of months!"
"But I wub IE! T_T"
"And? Go to [insert Virus filled site here] with IE and scan your computer for viruses."
Five mins later...
"MY GODLY GODZ! 80 VIRUSES?"
"Now go there with Firefox, and scan again."
A few more minutes later...
"Whoa, 3 viruses? Cool! :D"

EDIT: Oh, and IE keeps loading and loading and loading... and loading... when the loading bar fills up, guess what appears? "OMG CANT DIZPLAE PAEG! LOL!!!"

In firefox, when it doesn't load, it says in an alert window that it couldn't connect, therefore not changing your page.

Also, don't you just HATE it when your typing something up and accidentally hit the Back Button and it's gone? Firefox doesn't do that. When you go back to a page, it holds inserted text into it's memory, and puts it back if you return to the page via the Forward/Back buttons.

Wow, a popup every half hour, which takes all of half a second to delete.

It says something is downloaded, and to restart FF to make it work, but when you do, it claims to have never downloaded anything.

This whole ad swarm thing...I'm beginning to think it a figment of your imagination. Where are the ads?

There is no need for all the patronizing comments and emotional display. People havea right to use what browser they want. Since you clearly have the "better" one, please leave it at that and leave me alone. All I can say is that IE runs faster than FF, and I find it convenient. Don't make it sound like I'm gonna burn in hell for using it. :/

Not true: Type something in this post screen, press back then forward, and watch it disappear in FF. Both do that. Also, it's pretty hard to hit that accidently. :rolleyes:

 Then install XP SP2, or Maxthon. Honestly... that's like saying... shall I play an american football match with no pads on?!? We know IE gets popups - we know how to solve them. The answer's not always FF.
