I mean I great general boards: themed. They aren't based on one thing but the don't get anybody. I create a themed board and adveritse like hell and still don't get no members... But another one I create for an ex-friend (don't ask) has like 5000 members and a good 15000 posts! |

Well for getting members, I registered with loads of search engines and registered on Top Sites, as well as other Harry Potter forums. Although check the rules of any forums you are about to advertise your site on. Usually Admins are okay about you putting a link to your site in your signature. The thing is, these methods are getting me members but apart from the friend I knew from before, no one is posting in the on topic threads yet. :rolleyes: |

You have to have charisma, that is the bottom line. Both you as a person and your site have to be appealing for members to have a reason to stick around. Not a charismatic person?  I, for example, have about as much charaisma as a three-day old cheese sandwhich. |

Here's a easy way to get members just make 20 accounts with diffrent screen names. Make sure you post on each on of them and Guess what. You'll have more posts and more people and one very inprotant thing needs to be done. YOU MUST HAVE PAITINCE. |

I spent six months posting to hardly anyone on my board. You just gotta make it look like it's active, post something daily, offer something to make them come back. My board is for my clan which is more of a family so we're pretty active. Also, go enter it into search engines. After a while you'll get it on google too, since it searches other search engines and snags their links. It may be hard, but if you really want to get it goin you just need to be patient and make sure you have someone posting. Try and get some friends to help too. I didn't have anyone to help me out in that area |

I have added my site to allmost all of the toplists now. Guess what happend... My site used to be ranked first when I searched on google for 'ra2 forums' now all of the top sites are ranked up there!!! |
