 ...But because of the open-source nature of Firefox, anybody can go in and fix it.

But again, if a problem like this turned up in the IE engine, it would require a closed group of people (who have proven in the past to take ages to get things done) to fix it.

Check again, that bug goes for not only Firefox, but IE and Opera aswell. :r
BTW, the bug was already fixed in Firefox. Let's see how long it takes before IE fixes it.

Ummm, no they aren't. Check what version of FireFox you are running, and you'll see that you are affected too.

Avant usually fixes these things within a 7-14 day period, but IE takes 1 year to release a single update that really doesn't do anything. Avant's clearly better than IE, even if it's based on it... so let's see.. ;)

Sometimes they can lay a patch over the top, but other times they are bound by IE's release schedule :yes:

Reality check: There is only one guy on the Avant team. Anderson Che. No plurals, just one. If Che had a few more people on his team, they would've possibly consider developing their own rendering engine. ;)

You see, the reason why Avant is a shell is, because making a complete browser would take years and even more years to give out new versions by a single person. If Mr. Che would've gone for the long run, his lifetime would be up way before he gets done. :/

Firefox has a whole crew to back it up. Avant has only 1 dude to do that. If you understand the IFv2 holdup, you should understand this too.
