Not all 13/14 year olds have perfect grammar.

Hey, I'm 13 and I'm doing fine. I'm not perfect but the difference in me and them is the fact that I take time. It's not because they're ignorant they're just lazy.

I didn't generalize. I said "not all" which means some. I know there's plenty of young teenagers who can type and speak coherently.

Welcome to our world.

 That is just the way things are. Most people come here looking for help with things they dont understand. Therefore they often have no idea what to ask or where to even look for the answers.

Could they be more eloquent and expressive as to make our lives easier? Hell yeah! But that shouldn't mean we as "support volunteers" shouldn't try to give our best answers to solve thier problem.

Just a simple fact. Yes they could do a better job at asking. No that doesnt mean we dont at least try to answer..

My 50 cents

By the way Stephen Double posted I'm telling mommie XD j/k

Activity is good.
Helping is good.
Common sense is good.
Not sucking up or obviously trying is good.
Asking to be on is bad :P

Welcome to IF! :)
[ * * * ]
I am relatively new to IF and the first time I saw the ACP I said a word I cannot repeat here. I had been a mod on a site before that wasn't from IF, I knew how to bump topics, delete and move threads etc. so I had some experience with that but actually creating and changing forums and adding code hacks were not something I had done before.

I have tried to read all the rules and guidelines in the support forums and also reading other users posts to see if they were having the same problem as I was having has helped enormously. That didn't stop me from making mistakes and having to ask for support and even on one occasion asking for support when it wasn't a support problem. :$

The thing is though, this is new to us. Most of you see these problems a hundred times a day or have been doing it for a long time and its easy to get annoyed or bored with it. But its a big deal for the member who's just deleted some of the CSS and hasn't yet found the place where you can get it back.

So from all us newbies - thank you for your patience and please be with us, we are just learning. :$

We understand that people completely new to this will not get everything imediately, and sometimes are very overwhelmed.

What Seth didn't mention is the patience Staff members need when giving out support, because after seeinf what support we give, you'd have gun on the desk with your computer.

We get a variety of questions asked everday, some very easy, some more complicated. The documentation the staff and members have created for InvisionFree is so people can go through them and locate their problems easier and find a nice easy solution to it. Unfortunately, many members don't have the patience to look (and seeing as Search is down), they post their problem.

With even a little description, it's much easier for us to help them with whatever it is.

And in more cases, it's not the questions asked which are bad, but the answers given. People rush, they don't exactly describe what they need to do, or they just make fun of the person needing support.

Even with all these problems, we have one of the best support systems you'll ever come across on the web, and it's for free. Some people go ahead and ask us for support for things we can't give support for, being as we are IF Support.

In my humble opinion, many people don't take into account the fact that people might be nervous when asking for support. Someimes they even panic, which can lead to bad grammar or sloppy descriptions of the problem. After all, if something critical happens to your forum, such as getting hacked or abused by another board, you aren't exactly going to stop and think to yourself, while typing up your post, "Gee...am I spelling 'forum' correctly?" A bit of an exaggeration, but I hope you get my point.

Of course, there are those who seem to have no excuse at all--they have no reason to be under pressure, yet they explain their problem poorly. I can understand becoming frustrated with situations like this. But for others, where the problem is truly serious, the fact is that humans panic. And sometimes, part of panicking is assuming without realization that the person answering your question knows just as much as you about what is going on.

Just my two cents.
