 I think he's pointing out that if we replaced Avant with FireFox via the word filter, "Avant sucks" becomes "FireFox sucks". :ermm:

Aaaaaaaanyway, this topic is getting a bit same old same old, pretty much nothing new compared to the million others. Topic starts out ok, it degrades into arguing, then advertising, then stupid spam. So, either the next post has something to add other than comments like 'Avant sucks, Firefox rawks!', 'Here's my one million unrational reasons why not to use blahblah' or basically advertising FF or Avant or I close this - it really has become exactly the same as every other FF/Avant topic. :/

 How about everyone just drops Avant... and at least tries out Maxthon. Even the latest issue of PC Magazine (USA) recommends it [Source Issue: June 28th 2005].

And then download FireFox too. And use both. FireFox for when you feel in an "i'm going to eat my vegetables and go to bed early", Maxthon for anything else.

Until FireFox updates to with some new JS stuff like Array.filter anyway. Then i'll go change my mind and tell everyone to move to FF :D

Yeah it's pretty annoying. If people would just engage their brains for two seconds and try to come up with rational reasons for their arguments, then this topic might go somewhere.

Saying "FireFox is great" does not make it great, just as saying "Avant is great" doesn't make Avant great.

I am not running FireFox and Opera. I will use Opera when I need to mass download things, or require stability, and I will use FireFox for light browsing.

Whilst IE is a bad browser, it is not a raging virus about to delete all your files. The majority of people use IE and have few problems.

I have a AMD Athlon XP system, and I am running Windows 2000. I doubt it's other programs because I have seen similar problems whilst reading the bug reports at BugZilla.

Maxthon is merely just another plugin to IE... Wouldn't go near it. :no:

i apologize if you have explained it million times already but i don't wanna read all posts :unsure: , so;

why should i try Maxthon? FireFox does it all for me, so what does Maxthon give me?

( EDIT: argh, not avant, Maxthon i mean >_< .)
